Question About ActivSync Email

I asked this a couple months ago (and in multiple places) and never got a response. I'm now using activsync for my Hotmail account and I'm really liking the fact that I don't have to re-delete crap off the computer (that was really my only issue - that and my emails that are still on the server re-syncing to my phone). However, I really want to just have the activsync icon on my desktop instead of going through the messaging icon and then finding it in there (two clicks instead of one). I use Chomp for texts, so I don't need the text messaging icon in there, either.

1. Is there a way to just put the ActivSync icon on my desktop or is there a widget I could download/buy that I could use instead that would send me straight to my email?

2. Alternatively, can I remove Text Messaging from the Messaging app?

You should have an "email" icon in your app drawer. Long press on it and drop it on one of your home screens. That should just be your email and nothing else.

Not sure if you can remove text messaging but I don't think so.

Have your carrier block it for you. I use google voice so I have verizon block my text.

Thanks guys, totally feel like a moron. I had both my regular Hotmail account and my ActivSync on the phone, so until I deleted the regualr account, the email icon didn't include the ActivSync and I was getting double notifications. I deleted it and all is well with the world. I was really getting annoyed with having to go into the Messaging icon and then clicking on the ActivSync...seemed kinda counterproductive.

Ok, new questions about Activesync.

Is anyone else having an issue with it actually syncing? It was working as late as 9:00 CST last night, but all day today it hasn't synced on its own. I've rebooted my phone, to no avail. The only time it will sync is if I open it up and refresh it.

I also tried deleting the account and reloading it, but it still doesn't work, and now only has synced messages that I've received since Christmas. I have about 20 messages that I keep on my Hotmail and I would like them all on my phone (they were there before I removed the account), but it won't pull them. Does anyone know how to fix any of this?

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Ok, cool. Good to know that it's not just me. It's been driving me nuts since last night. Wish I knew this before I deleted my account and reloaded it. Oh well. Hopefully someone knows what's going on and has an answer for us in the near future.

Woke up this morning, and it still isn't working. I can't send email at all from my Hotmail that I have set up on ActiveSync. I can't even send anything to my gmail account. I can receive email, but only if I refresh it myself. It isn't getting pushed to my phone.

Anyone know any fix? This is driving me nuts! And dare I say it?!? It's making me look at my old BB... But no, in all seriousness, I can't go back to the Stone Age, so I would really like to get my email working on my X!
