Question about changing kernels.

I currently have Zinc V2.1.3, I think I'm running the stock kernel (it says 2.6.29). I want to try the super fast kernel, but I'm afraid that if I use clockwork it will overwrite my current ROM (which I really like).

Is there a way I can change my kernel with Odin or something so I don't have to lose Zinc?

No, if you use CWM to install just a kernel it doesn't overwrite anything but the kernel. Make an nandroid backup first.
One word of caution though, if you have VooDoo Lag fix installed, be sure to disable it first b4 flashing any non-Voodoo kernels.
Unless you are on DJ05, don't use stupid fast 1.5.4 or you will lose vibration. Just use the older 1.2.3

Thanks. Is there a way to check if I've installed a voodoo kernel? I have installed JT's Super Clean and Zinc in the past.

What is a nandroid back up?
