I have read that the latest Bluetooth 5.0 can connect to 2 different devices at the same time. I was wondering do you have to have the very latest Bluetooth devices for that to happen?

I have a Panasonic midi stereo with a separate Bluetooth unit that plugs into the RCA ports, so I can stream music from my phone. I also have a Samsung sound bar with separate sub woofer, so it would awesome if I could stream music from Google play to both devices for a concert hall type effect. This question applies equally to an intended Note 8 purchaser which would have the same Bluetooth 5.0.

No you don't. Tried it with my sound bar and level box. Both few years old. Both was able to connect and play

Awesome!! Thanks for answering. The much improved Bluetooth with dual connection is enough of a reason for me to upgrade my S5. Can't now wait for the Note 8.
