Would someone please help me, I am trying to listen to MP3's on my Zte Zephyr android phone offline.

I use a usb stick for downloading music (I download songs from my cds onto my stick) from my computer. This stick is also compatable with my phone. I plug in the stick and nothing happens. I have also tried free music players for usb sticks that you can listen to offline and nothing works. I have even tried google play and I can't play anything from the usb stick on it.

I am wondering if I missed something? I am sorry if this is a question that has been repeated before, I am new to the forum and I am getting very frustrated here.

What kind of files are on your USB stick? (mp3, ogg, wav)?
Can your music player play that file type?
Does your music player see the USB stick?

Number one: File is listed as MP3 format sound (I checked on my Desktop computer)
Number two: My Desktop computer can play the file, my phone can't despite me using all of the free downloaded programs on my phone (Google play, etc)
Number three: My phone does not show the music stick on it.

I tried mounting this. The storage settings does not show the usb storage that I plugged into the phone. I am using a maxchange usb stick (no otg cord needed). I also tried mounting this before I turned it on. Nothing.

Using a file browser app, can you see what is on the USB stick?
Can you tap on one of the files and get it to plan manually?

OP not sure that your ZTE Zephyr will support usb-otg. You may need to transfer the files to your phone.
Follow up....
Usb-otg allows your phone to be a host to connected USB devices. From what I read, most phones released in the last few years are enabled... But not all. There are apps available to check your phone. Think it is just called otg.

Mary see my post above. Not all phones will support what you are trying to do. Before you spend too much time, check to see if it will support usb-On The Go (otg).

I am sorry for the late reply.
I have checked google to see if my phone could be rooted and I didn't see anything.
I guess I picked out the wrong phone lol
I will wait and see if the phone model ends up being available in the near future.
If anyone can get the model (the same one I have) rooted, please let me know.

Thanks again to those who tried to help me. Merry Christmas.
