I have the Droid X, coming from the BB Storm. On the Storm I would download the AndroidCentral Podcast by clicking the "down load it" link and it would save to my SD card. Now with the DX it doesn't store to the SD card but seems to just stream. How can I get the MP3 stored on the SD card?

If you use a program like Podkast (free) or Doggcatcher (paid) you can download the podcast directly to your SD card. I have both programs and personally like Podkast better, even though I hate ads in apps.

Or dl the steel or skyfire browser and dl the link. It will save in a folder called downloads on the ad card.

got it

Thanks. I long pressed the link and saved link. It stored on the as card. Great.

I have Listen as a podcatcher. But i can't seem to find the files on the sd card after downloading from Listen. Any ideas?

Listen does save them to the memory card but they aren't named correctly. There will be a folder on the root of your SD card with a folder with the name "listen" somewhere in the title. Open that up and you'll see all of your podcasts but they're named things like "a583957" or something random like that. So, with Listen, the only way to listen to the podcasts (and know which ones they are) is to do it through the Listen application.

(I don't think I've ever typed the word "Listen" that much in one post... :p )

I just want to throw out Mortplayer Audiobooks. I have been using it since winmo and its awesome. it free and you just tell it at setup where the audiobook or podcasts are located and it does the rest. I just created a folder on the SD card called podcasts and thats where I dl all my podcasts.

Another great podcasting app is Podtrapper. It was originally a BB app, and the developer has recently porters it over to Android. It is still in Beta and hasn't been put on the market yet, but you can sideload it by going to http://ota.versatilemonkey.com/ptalpha/

I've been using it forever on Blackberry, and now that i've switched to Android with the Droid X, I cannot recommend it highly enough.

I use Google listen which I love but I guess it doesn't permanently save the shows. It delete them after 20 shows are listened to or something.
