Questions about 45W Charger

I also bought the new 15w triple Samsung wireless charger when I got my fold 3. So I can charge my watch, buds and phone at the same time.

All:

please kindly note that the 45-watt fast charger from the S20 Ultra days have a different part number than this current 45-watt fast charger.

it is not possible to see what differences there are because Samsung doesn't give details in its product listing on samsung.com! very strange.

suffice it to say, they can't be identical since they have different product numbers.

i still have my two 45-watt chargers from the S20 Ultra days but with my $200 accessories freebie, i bought the new 45-watt charger anyway in order to ensure that everything will go well without issues.

look forward to learning from others what difference(s) there might be between those two 45-watt chargers! thanks.

I wanted to get the new charger but it was out of stock when I ordered. I'll try the S20 Ultra one I've got lying around and let you guys know!

I went the cheap route and ordered a third party 45W charger on Amazon. It came with its own cable. Need to check it to see if it is noticeably thicker than my other USB C cables.

Picked one up at Best Buy today so now I need 5 amp cable.

I got the Anker 45W Charger and it seems to work with my Tab S7+ and it is listed as being PPS compatible with the S22U. For those that want to use a third party that is a bit smaller than the Samsung one and has the folding plug which I like for portability

Also using an Akner USB-C cable with it

I read that some usb c cables have a special chip for 5 amp charging but have seen no ads for cables with that chip.

This is the cable I'm using. It's rated to 100w by Anker. I'm not sure about the chip on USB-C cables but that wouldn't surprise me since it does have to transfer the power in a safe manner

And this is the charger for those interested

does the NEW samsung 45-watt charger comes with a thicker cable? or does it not even come with a cable?

it's bizarre that samsung explains very little about the difference(s) between the NEW 45-watt charger and the S20 Ultra's 45-watt charger that i bought from 2 years ago. with two similar products, why in the world won't they have a simple table listing the differences and similarities?

I believe those are USB-C 3.1 Gen 2 cables which allow for up to 100w charging and also very high speed data transfer. I have two of those but primarily for high speed data transfer. There is a chip in it to regulate the power otherwise something might get fried, so I would stick with quality ones. They are definitely thicker cables, too.

It's impossible to compare relative thickness if one of the cables is braided

Useful information, thank you!

All you with the fancy schmancy 45w chargers and I'm going to buck the trend and use this 35w charger that I got when I got my ZF3. I never opened this so I hope it works.

This is a stupid question, but this WILL work with the S22 Ultra right? I mean, it'll be faster than 25w but not as fast as 45w? That said, 25w has been plenty enough for me but this is just otherwise catching dust. lol
