Quick hello

Hi all,

Just a quick intro from me as I've just joined the forum. I'm Paul and I live in England. Took delivery of my new HTC One M9 yesterday after being in the iOS wilderness for a couple of years as I've always just used whatever work have given me. My last android handset was the 1st gen HTC Desire.

Glad to be back on android and the M9 is an awesome phone. I agonised a lot between than & the Nexus but the M9 pipped it with better multi-tasking capabilities.

No problems as yet but definitely interested to hear how everyone else is using their phone & any cool apps etc. I work in digital advertising so love the fact that Google do android apps for Google Analytics and Google AdWords - means I can check everything whenever I want!

I wanted a big phone so was initially leaning towards the iPhone 6. Not for any specific reason other than a latent awareness of the iPhone 6 being large. After a bit of research though it just felt massively overpriced for what it was so then I was looking at a OnePlus, Nexus, M9 or one of those Ubuntu phones (BQ Aquaris E4.5). HTC just felt right for me. I would've gone for the Aquaris only for the fact that it's still pretty new and not as much support/apps as with others.

Just need to get an otterbox before I drop it now (inevitable!)

Yeah... get that case.... I almost ALWAYS use a case on my phones... other than two very short stints of course.

I learned the hard way - should see the state of my old iPhone 4.

I've always had work phones so never had to bother looking after one because it always stays at home when I'm off work. Only had my "own" phone this past year which was just a hand-me-down off my partner when she upgraded but can't tell you how many times I've dropped it, had the screen replaced etc. It was like new when she gave it me and she'd had it a couple of years!!
