Hi, first of all congrats everyone for buying nexus 7! Its a good tablet
My questions is what would be the convineint way to see my saved PDF files besides going through downloads and viewing them, I can't drag them to desktop or anything

If you install Adobe Reader, it will can be used to navigate a folder tree, provides a recently opened list and if set as your default handler for PDFs, can open them after initial dowload .

Thank you but that program doesn't even show my ebooks properly and it takes minutes to load one page, for some reason default PDF reader works 10 times faster so any other suggestions?

This is just funny everyone talks about every other detail but no one even knows how to save a PDF file or something

As was suggested, use a pdf viewer that gives you a 'recents' list. Otherwise, no you can't make folders on your homescreen for just files, only for applications.

Download Solid Explorer from the Play Store. Once installed look for its widget. You can create a shortcut folder on the home screen to take you to the folder you keep your PDF files.
