Hey sorry I am making a whole new post for this but I just got a nook color (its awesome) I am about to head to walmart to get a micro sd card so I can root it.. Does it matter what class it is? I read it has to be a 6 but my walmart only seems to have class 2s in stock.. Sigh. Any help would be great, thanks :)

Many people have issues with class 10, so you should probably avoid those. Class 2 may be a bit slow, but otherwise should work (I have a couple of class 4s, which seem fine).

Ok so I would be ok getting a class 2? If so I'll just pick one up.. Hopefully they have a class 4 in stock.. Btw I was planning on going straight to honeycomb so hopefully a class 2 will do.. also 8gb for it correct? Thanks

Class 2 might work. Class 4 would be better. Class 6 if you can find it, although I've seen issues with Class 6 cards greater than 8GB, and I haven't seen anyone say anything good about their Class 10 cards.

There's another thread here about the classes, what they mean, and how to benchmark your card when you get it.

I'm guessing read speeds will be more important than write, but I may be way off on that.

Ok, thanks I appreciate it. I'm going to see what walmart has.. Im hoping they have an 8gb class 4. We shall see though. If they only have class 2 I may just wait it out and go to best buy in the morning.

The main issue I've seen with Class 10 cards is that they're not Class 10 cards. More like Class 6 or Class 4, but with a much higher price tag. Some reviews on NewEgg also mention complete failure within a couple of weeks --a complaint which also gets mentioned on Class 6 16GB cards.

I picked up a $23 ADATA 8GB Class 6 card and it behaves like a Class 6 card. Would've hated to pay twice as much for the same performance.

I bought a Patriot 8GB class 10 from amazon for $24.99 and it work great.
I previously was using 8GB Samsung Class 2 and was running a bit slow.
I would defenetly recomend the Patriot 8GB class 10.

a Patriot 16GB class 10 did not work, I kept getting password encryption request.

I was unable to use a 16gb class 6 by transcend for nookie.... constant force close of processes even with a clear cache.

Now my 8 gb transcend class 6 has been perfect, and is only 20 bucks on newegg.

Can people share the brand, size and class of their microSD cards that actually work? I had a Trescend 4GB class 6, it did not work for me.
