Radioshack Employee here, taking questions about Pre Order/Buying Process

Thanks for sharing, so i assume you dont have any problem that screen will responsive less after having ZAGG on, right?

*That's kinda disappointing news. If I will go for some car dock, what do you recommend for EVO 4G, i mean universal one for car dock.

Screen responsiveness is right as rain with my Zagg on.

Even if it is a feature phone that does not need data for your 3rd line, you are still looking at the 19.99 price point for it. Sprint is all in with their data packs.
I know my RadioShack is selling blackberrys free right now on new activation. I would probably just pick one of those up since your going to have the data for it anyway.

you sure just $10? On sprint.com, it says $19.99 for phone 3-5, but doesn't say if it's for smartphone or regular phone. I will be getting phone #3 as non-smartphone, I just want to know if it's $19.99 or $10?

Quote from Sprint.com (Everything Data Family - with Any Mobile, Anytime)

Talk: Night calling and weekends starting at 7 p.m., nationwide long distance and no roaming charges. Lines 1-2 included. Lines 3-5 are $19.99/mo./line.

Can you check on this for me bp3dots?

Owleyes has the right answer. Verified it with my sprint rep today. sorry for the mix-up.

If your a premier customer your allowed to upgrade every year at new contract pricing? I'm hitting year one with the Pre on June 1st. If that's the case I'm getting an Evo.
I'm a premier customer and my contract was up on June 1st. I called and they changed my date to May 18th (shows as May 1st on Sprint's site) so I could pre-order one. Might try that if you're interested in pre-ordering one.

You dont need to do that, as long as you're eligible to upgrade before the 4th, you can preorder.

I know you said that, but I tried that at 2 different RS stores in Seattle and neither one would let me pre-order a phone on the line that was eligible on June 1st.

As I posted in the updated original post. If they wont let you, they are frankly wrong. I posted the wording directly from our corporate notes saying that we can do it. If they wont let you, refuse to leave until they do, tell them to check their updated Evo pre-order info, talk to a manager, call corporate if you have too.

It really ticks me off when these stores give us all a bad name because the employees cant follow simple instructions.

The problem is it doesn't matter how wrong they are. If they refuse to do it, a customer can't make them do it. I went the easier route and just got Sprint to change my eligibility date.

I called my Radiohack and they took a second to look up my account to make sure i was eligible. Seeing how I've had my 700p for over 3 yrs I wasnt too worried.

Question:

The reason I called them was to find out if they have pre order problems like Best Buy (where they can no longer guarantee June 4th)

They told me that they have no real limit to how many pre orders will get filled on June 4. He said they will get as many phones as they put in for. Can anyone confirm this is true?

This is the word around my district as well. I spoke to my DM about it this very morning. Any phones that we pre-order will be here on the 4th for everyone to pick up. When they tell us to quit taking the orders I will let ya'll know first thing!

I manage a store in NJ =)

We're told as long as the pre-orders are in by May 30th, they will be at the store by June 4th. (Radioshack overnights phones to stores all the time to ensure replenishment is always up to par.)

I've literally sold out of Blackberry's in one day and 2 days later I'm entirely replenished. Its a rather smooth and fast system.

I originally had a SERO, so my account type shows as "employee referral"

I converted to a "everything data 450" plan back in 01/10.

I understand that BB/RS can't do upgrades for those on SERO plans

Will I run into any issues since my account type still shows "employee referral"? Thank you (I spoke with account services who said I should be ok and that they can't change my account type since that is the original plan i signed up with)

Once you changed to that new 69.99 plan, you're as normal as any other sprint customer in our system. (RS)

So my sprint rep stopped by today with an Evo! Got about 20 minutes of hands on time with it. It really is an awesome device, the screen is ridiculous, android looks much nicer on the 4.3" screen than wimo 6.5. Its crazy fast compared to the hero, its it feels really nice to hold. Even typing in portrait mode was a breeze, which I always had trouble with on smaller phones.

Very good to hear about typing in portrait, as that is a major concern of mine. Thanks!

This is not automatic. The Sprint rep who changed your plan missed a step. Same thing happened to me. I went from SERO to EPRP to ED 450. Although Sprint changed the "plan type" the "account type" was still employee referral. I found this out when I attempted to have my corporate discount added. They can indeed change this. I advise you to get this cleared up as soon as possible.

My father is the account holder for me...I was very young when I got my first cell phone and I have just continued it on his name with his permission of course.

My father is out of the country till July.

Do I really need him to be there with me or can it be done without him? I have account services notes saying I have access to the account and I will have his DL # and SSN # and sprint PIN. Thank you. I am really worried about this...
