so its time for an upgrade sunday and the evo 3d is one of the phones im concidering. along with the new samsung galaxy not sure which yet though. but im liking the price for the evo 3d at 50$.

will the evo 3d still be a decent phone in 20 months ?

is the phone a fast phone

what type of major problems are there with the phone that people have seen?

with normal use 5 or 6 calls a day under 10 mins and some net usage will the batter last 8hrs?

does the htc sence work on the phone?

The phone is about on par with the majority of the current competition. The term fast i relative to what you're used to.

The phone should easily last you 8hrs with that kind of light usage. Yes sense works on the phone, not sure what you're asking there.

As for whether the phone will still be a "decent" phone in 20 months it'd difficult to say. The phone is more than capable for all the normal uses today and in 20 months it should still be capable of doing the exact same thing it is doing now. Contrary to popular belief when a new phone comes out your phone doesn't magically stop working.

if you're content with the phone when you purchase it then I'm sure you'll be pleased with it 20 months from now as well.

battery life is great in my opinion. I get an easy 12 hours out of a charge. and I leave 4g on most of the day...

sense 3.0 is a little laggy. but I am using ADW Launcher Ex and my phone is very fast.

so it all depends. if you want any info just ask.

I love my Evo 3D. To answer the questions...

Yes the phone is fast. And it will get even faster when Ice Cream Sandwich is released for it (with support for the dual core processor).

In 20 months it probably won't be the fastest phone out there, but it should still run all the apps, still have 3D cameras, still have a nice screen that displays 3D pictures and videos, still have the HDMI mirroring on your TV (or computer monitor), and so on. So it should still be at least decent in 20 months.

On the battery life, mine sucks big time. I am not even close to 8 hours. Mine is on a charger several times every day. I'm hoping an extended battery that fits in the stock cover is released. But as of right now, battery life sucks with the stock battery.

Sense works fine. I'm not a Sense fan though, and I run SPB Shell 3D.

All in all, for $50 I highly suggest you grab this phone. I paid a lot more than that for mine, and I love it.

The phone is very powerful and should be capable of lasting two years.

For $50 dont pass that deal up.

SPB Shell 3D.
so im guessing you are rooted

well im sure thep hone is a heckuva lot faster than my shift heh
and my shift worked alot better once i rooted it and got away from 2.3.3

Not rooted. When I do root I'll undoubtedly get better performance though.

I got mine for $30 back in September and would still recommend it now at $50. Though if you're starting a new contract another option is the Samsung Epic Touch for $79.99.

Slim,

Look on Amazon for CHICHITEC batteries for the 3D. I bought two of them back in July and they work just fine. Slim design that fits in the original back. 1930 mAh.

The Seidio case with the kickstand is my personal favorite.

Otterbox Defender. You can't put a price on protecting the resale value!
