Radioshack will have it for sale tomorrow without pre-order

I can understand how some of the users feel about the Shift...keep in mind if your coming from a Pre, BB or anyother non HTC Android phone, the Shift is a great phone, on the other hand if you have been a faithful user of the HTC EVO since it's launch then you will find the Shift to be a real disapointment. Working for the Shack and dealing with phones on a daily basis i can honestly say that they ruined the EVO name by even releasing this phone with the EVO name on it...ughhh..runs like a pig in heat compared to the EVO 4G... but runs much better than the Sanyo ZIO...god DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THE ZIO...lol Thats a whole different topic. I can appreciate those people that are first time Android users with a Shift...but you really dont know what your missing until you have had or used the original EVO....sorry...just my personal and professional opinion...Honestly, if your going to pay 149.00 for the Shift..spend the extra 50.00 and get the EVO...really...!! When we heard back months ago they were going to make an EVO2 i was pretty excited...i thought..great the perfrect phone..take my EVO, add a sliding a keyboard and its GOLDEN! But no..they had to destroy a perfectly good phone..why?? I have no idea...but all i know is that when we got them in stock a couple days before the launch date...ughh!! what a let down!!

This is ridiculous. The Shift is a GREAT phone and in no way is the EVO name ruined. This coming from a proud owner of both an Evo and Evo Shift. Like many of us posters has posted both phones has there differences. However some of the pros for the Shift consist of it being faster, screen is better, camera is better and a wonderful slide out keyboard and nice feel in the hand. While on the other hand some of the pros for the Original Evo consist of screen size, hdmi out, kickstand...and that's about it actually. Yeah it had a bigger processor but its way slower than that of the Shift. It also has a 8mp camera but that too lacks when compared to the 5mp camera of the Shift. The pics on the Evo looks wasked out or faded when compared to the pics of the Shift. I'll post some pics later from both devices.

All in all, don't put the Shift down. Like I said and many others, its a great phone and so is the Evo. But you have to give props when props is due...and the Shift definately gets props!

Why do people keep saying this phone is ruining the Evo name????? Sprint is using the evo name as a line of products that will include a variety of phones with diff specs and form factors, similar to the Droid line. Did the Droid Eris ruin the Droid name? of course not. Why can people appreciate the phone for what it is. A faster, smaller evo with a keyboard sans ffc. When did choice ever become a bad thing? Does the next evo have to have a 4.5" screen to be better? Enough with the madness!
