Hey, I'm trying to lock down a problem that has reared its ugly head recently. One of the recent apps I installed (not sure which) acts like it's trying to hijack. When I first hit the button to take the tablet out of sleep mode or to turn it on, it immediately opens up Google Play and tries to get me to download a game or other app, which I don't need. Then there are times where an icon will magically appear on my screen tat I did NOT install, and it wants me to install it. I've just installed avast! and ran a virus check, and nothing comes up as malicious. I have also not installed anything I couldn't find off of Google Play, like untrusted apps from questionable sites, so is there a way of stopping this without uninstalling everything?

None of the apps I installed had any Russian origins, but uninstalling a font pack seemed to have stopped the problem. I'm installing Lookout now and uninstalling avast! to see if Lookout will catch anything. Thanks!

Just download avast or dr web free version....run it they will find the apps and they will remove them or suggest to uninstall them.
