Random trumpet sound

[Android Central Question]

My Samsung S9 device has started to make random trumpet notifications without any accompanying messages. Does anyone know what might be causing this?

A Pixel 4a.

I haven't put it on safe mode, I didn't want to lose screen short cuts. Was hoping someone had discovered the app that was causing it.

Happened twice today, but first occurrence for weeks. Really weird.

Safe mode shouldn't delete short cuts , it disables 3rd party apps

Yeah , if it doesn't look for 3rd party apps causing this.

My S10e did same thing after I did a factory reset, so I had to go into settings and choose a notification sound. But my phone only did the trumpet when I got notifications.

First time in months.
No notifications in list.
On samsung s8.

The random trumpet sound on my google pixel 4a was coming from the talksport app. I now force stop the app after use and that completely cures the issue.

I have 2 Motorola g6 play or something. One from work. My home one has maybe maximum 5 apps added on to what comes with it. Quite random trumpet sounds twice today. Does it every week or two. Annoying. I've forced stop Talk Sport and Uninstalled it. I use it very, very infrequently. In settings Notification were off. I do hope it's talk sport. Only have BBC.. not much else on here. I'll have to wait to see if it is Talk Sport.. fingers crossed.

I have been using the Talksport app today and shortly after I finished using it I got a couple of random trumpet sounds. Force Stopped the app and will not use the app again for a while. I will need to listen to Talksport radio online again tomorrow teatime but can do that using the VRadio app instead.

What we also need to know is anyone is getting these random trumpet sounds who do *not* have the Talksport app installed?

I don't have the talk sport app and have had it come out of nowhere too.

First time was 3 am, happened about 3 4 times in a row.
Today again happened with 0 apps open, no recent notifications. Restarted phone and happened again 5 minutes later.

Do I need to search for viruses?

I hope it's the TalkSport app to blame. The problem is it happens so infrequently that it's hard to verify that something has fixed it. My TalkSport app had notifications off but the fanfare is never accompanied by a notification anyway. It just comes rarely, randomly and loud enough to make me jump! I've now uninstalled TalkSport. If I get the fanfare again then I'll be back to report it's not being caused by that app. If I'm not back within a month then that was the cause...

My thinking is that if one app has a way of randomly making the sound by apparently bypassing the usual notification mechanism then so can another.

Have OnePlus 8T...same issue... No sports apps installed... This VERY LOUD intrusion is random and unsettling... Happens sometimes when driving and I think I have really upset another car.. T his had been going on for months and just ocurred in middle of a quiet lunch we nearly cooked on our sandwiches. Hello please!!
