It would be hard for me to recommend anything but the Nexus for Verizon users right now. The phone is functionally flawless for the most part.
eh...that is not what I am seeing on the Galaxy nexus forums.
In its defense, I dont think it has any MORE problems than the Razr or Rezound...just different ones. My main issues with the Galaxy Nexus have to do with its design, not bugs. I used a GN at the Verizon store yesterday, and it really is an awesome phone.
The interface is incredibly clean
I agree...ICS is awesome. I definitely did
NOT like having the buttons as part of these screen though. This made it awkward to use at some points because they disappear sometimes (during transitions or whatever)...static buttons are always there, by contrast.
It does look really cool though. Especially on a Super AMOLED display.
the phone is lightning fast and never stutters or slows
That was not my experience. The gallery was noticeably laggier than the one on the Rezound. Not awful mind you, but enough that you could see it.
the camera is indeed a great camera regardless of what you've been reading or hearing. Five megapixels is plenty
I totally agree. But the auto-focus issue is a big deal...at least to me.
its simply just not going to replace a DSLR or high quality point in shoot. In that respect, we have come to expect way too much from our phones and the hardware within them.
The thing is, the competitors to the GN have great cameras. The one on the Rezound is just awesome. It was much better than I expected it to be. It does well even in low light and has no focusing issues. Macro shots look as good as distance shots.
The Galaxy Nexus is definitely an awesome phone. The screen is beautiful...I thought the Pentile display would bother me, but I honestly didnt see any problems with it when I used the phone. It was a very good looking display, and looked the same as the RGB of the Razr. The pixel density is technically lower than the Rezound, but I could not tell the difference myself. I dont know if I'd call it "unrivaled"...the deep blacks of Super AMOLED are definitely drool-worthy, but it's color reproduction is not as good as the Rezound. That being said, if I had a choice, I'd rather have Super AMOLED.
The lack of SD was the main deal killer for me. I do not want to be trapped in 16 gigs for the next 2 years. The only thing the phone has that I might miss is NFC, but I doubt I would ever use it until the technology matures anyway.
