So apparently Google took it upon itself to push out RCS instead of waiting for the carriers.

And it should be noted it's a rollout. But Google is starting this immediately.

I'm wondering if this is direct response to what Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint/T-Mobile announced the other day.

It's a topic we were discussing in another thread. I may switch to it. We use Verizon Messages+, which already had some RCS features.

The US carriers are rolling out their own apps. I don't think APIs have anything to do with it. I believe it is being able to connect to and using RCS servers.

Earlier today I was able to enable RCS on my Verizon S10. Now it says it's not available for this device.

Holy RCS Batman! I'm RCS enabled!

I opted into the Google Messages Beta program and installed the beta version.

When I opened it, it enabled RCS.

P.S. I'm Verizon with the Verizon Note 10+ 5G.

I'm still on the beta too from the earlier hack, but when I opened Messages I got an alert about it, hit continue or whatever and it installed it. Not sure if it'll stay on if I leave the beta now though. Didn't wanna risk it. LOL

Anyone got this working consistently in Att? It doesnt matter if it's the beta or official it works for a few then disables. I'm assuming its Att mucking it up.
