Reading books and magazines on a tablet

I am thinking of getting the Transformer Infinity, or perhaps the 7" Nexus. I want to be able to use the tablet for most everything for which I currently use my laptop and Kindle Reader. OK, I know I have to make compromises and it won't be perfect for everything, but do many of you use your Infinity for reading books and magazines? I know the 7" tablets are easy to hold, but I'm not sure how easy the bigger and heavier 10" tablets are, and would like some comments and info from those of you who use them, or have tried to use them for this.
Thanks

It's noticeably more comfortable holding the Nexus 7 for long periods of time.

But the bigger screen is better for productivity tasks.

I use a rooted 7" Nook Color and I find the size perfect for reading books and general use. It is much easier to hold for long periods as well as carry. Personally I think 10" tablets are over rated, though I understand some people prefer them. If the 1st iPad had been a 7" device I don't think we would even be having this conversation.

Is the nook only rooted? Or did you also install a better android version on it?

I couldn't agree more. I've read a few books on my iPad 2, and it was cumbersome to say the least. It actually hurt a bit to old something so large and thin. I have a somewhat bulky faux-leather Roocase on my Nexus 7, and it feels like I'm holding a book. The thickness is perfect, the size is just right, and the screen is quite easy on the eyes. My only wish is that they would release f.lux for Android. It's much nicer for night reading.
