Real life outdoor visibility

In the shade maybe, but in direct sun it's just not usable in portrait with polarized lenses. Why didn't they polarize it to 45°?

I'm sure it depends on your glasses. I wear Maui Jim's and the screen is fine in portrait. It's landscape where I lose part of it.
