really confused as to why VZW keeps giving me $100 or $300 AFTER I bought/activated new phones

Yes it is. You can only use one payment payment source.

Guess have to remember even though Verizon says no more contracts, the DPP is a contract, so they don't want to make it easy to pay.

No service contract. Device payment is a form of contract.

With that said Verizon isn't the only one. TMobile was sued for deceptive advertising on the device payment plan by a state attorney general during Legere's tenure and agreed to change their practices and to give refunds even to those past the return period.

My S2 is on the way, I'll kepp the thread posted. Here's to hoping they send another email. Lol.

I received the same offer. It was explained that since we did this as an online purchase the system provided the same offer that was applied to the purchase and may not work a second time....as explained by Verizon customer service. They said trying second time was a 50/50 shot at going through

but all the emails that I received clearly indicated that they knew I had recently activated new lines?

I guess you got a 50/50 shot three times. Lol. That 12.5% chance on the last one was pretty lucky.

Can I use a credit to purchase a smart watch? Say I get this $300 can I put the watch on next month's bill like normal and then will they automatically subtract the credit from the watch price?

Sent from my Nexus 9 using Android Central

absolutely... just order the watch on Verizon's website and choose to have it billed to your Verizon account. The charge will show up on your next billing statement. When the $300 credit shows up on your account, it will offset the watch's purchase.

Cool, I think I'll wait until the credit actually posts. I'm pretty sure it will, but you never know.

Apparently it is random whether you get the email, but looks like you always get the $$$.

Perhaps I'll order another phone and see what happens. Purely as a math project,
just to see how random these double-dipping emails show up. :D :D :D

Verizon just gave me two tickets for the Star Wars premier this Sat. only catch it's like 100 miles from me. Lol. I also won a Droid 2 in there game a month ago.

can't believe it's almost 40 years since I started my personal boycott of all Star Trek movies.

as of today, I have not seen a single Star Trak movie... not even a trailer or clips.

I was given 300 for a Moto X 2013 and 300 for an LG Leon. A friend of mine just recently moved from Page Plus prepaid to Verizon postpaid. He had purchased 4 Motorola E phones on Black Friday for $10 each. He was given 300 (1200 total) for each of those when he purchased 4 Turbo 2s on payment plans and walked away owing $224 on each of those Turbo 2s.

Well that's great but were talking Star Wars here. Lol.

"We don't hawk Trek around here!, Get out of here, spocksucker....."

If you know the movie that quote came from, your a Star Wars nerd.

I did DPP on my Droid Turbo purchase recently and agreed to trade in my current HTC at $200. Then got an email like the OP with a code to trade in a device.

My question is, should I wait until I trade in the first device, get the credit, then try and trade in another? Or just risk it and go ahead and trade both in for the $$$?

Where are you all getting these $10 smart phones to trade in????

Thanks,

I got the $300 bill credit for the extra code. Posted this morning. Now it's magically gone! Hmmm. I would trade in as a guest and get the gift card. Looks like they may be catching on with bill credits.

Hey BadKitties.... you end up with a code you don't plan on using send it my way. :) Thanks.
