recognizing the fake S3?

I am looking around to buy a used S2 or S3. I know someone is making a fake S3. I don't know if they have risked putting the Samsung brand name on it.

Anyone know? So is it easy to see that it is not genuine by looking for the Samsung name on the phone?

Getting the IMEI checked at your local cellular carrier would probably be your best bet to make sure it was authentic, and also verify that you can activate it.
