Recover deleted Messages

The Samsung S5 has a feature that automatically deletes old messages. Is there a way to recover these messages? How can I increase the message save limit or save these messages so they are not deleted in the future?

I don't know if you can recover them but I know that you can turn off the feature that deletes old messages. The option is in the settings.
