Well I just bought the nook color from DailySteals.com to keep me company while deployed . The only thing is I haven't been able to connect to the net in order to register it using the Wi-Fi :-\ (I think this is due to our stupid service provider here in...)

Can this be done via USB or any other way?

Also (and this is why I bought it from DS, in case I brick it) :-$ I'm trying to make an SD Card with the Gingerbread hack... Hopefully it will work since I'm NEW at this!

Can I use it with the card without registering it or I have to register the unit in order to be able to use it in any way?

You can go ahead and boot from SD without being registered
