regret getting your 5x?

Bought my wife the 5x and me the 6P and she loves her 5x. I held it and I actually really like the feel of the phone regardless of it being made of plastic. Its not a cheap plastic case, and imo feels much nicer than the Nexus 5 plastic did. Also the 2gb of ram is none issue, especially with not having all the bloatware that most phone manufactures tend to include. The wife has not complained once about her phone slowing down, her only complaint is the front camera warping her face which google has already said they'll exchange the phone :-)

No regrets on mine. The plastic construction doesn't bother me in the least. The fingerprint sensor is truly useful for bypassing the lock screen and the camera is really good. My past few phones have been Moto Droids with mediocre cameras, and before that a Nexus One so I've never had a phone with a good camera before and now I appreciate it.

I just saw a coworker's 6P this week and didn't find anything about it that really made me wish I had gone with that instead. In fact, I like the color reproduction on the 5X display better - the AMOLED display on the 6P had really exaggerated warm tones to it. And I didn't think I would say that, because all of my previous phones have had AMOLED screens.

I am thinking of getting one. I have the 5 currently and it is probably the best Android device I have owned. And I have cycled through quite a few of those in the last year or so.

Hell naw. I love my 5X.

The original Nexus 5 was my favorite Android phone of all time, but this year I had a lot of trouble finding a device that didn't having any annoying flaws. I went through a Galaxy S6, a G4, a OnePlus 2, a Nexus 6, a Moto X Pure, and a Nexus 6P. Each had some great qualities, but each had a somewhat fatal flaw that made me constantly think about upgrading. I'm finally happy on the 5X and feel like this phone could actually stick with me for a year. It doesn't have a camera as good as the S6, or as many manual camera settings as the G4, or the premium feel and raw specs of the OnePlus 2 and Nexus 6P, or the great speakers of the Nexus 6 and Moto X Pure, but it also doesn't have a non-uniform AMOLED screen with poor whites like the S6 and 6P, and it doesn't have poorly designed software like the G4, and it doesn't have a downright inaccurate display and huge body like the Nexus 6, and it doesn't have buggy software like the OnePlus 2, and it doesn't feel stuttery and underpowered like the Moto X Pure. It may not be the best in many categories, but it also doesn't really fail in any category except maybe speaker quality, which is mediocre, but I can live with that.

No regrets at all. I've had great battery life, none of the issues reported on this forums except the camera occasionally crashing (rare). Super happy with this purchase.

I see similar "inconsistent call answering behavior" in the G3 and G4 threads. So this seems like an LG problem. I'll use the 5X for some more time and see how I feel about it.

I'm not unhappy with the 5x. I think the RAM issue is a none issue and generally the specs are fine and it mostly runs stutter free.

I just wish it was a bit more premium. I like metal and I don't like creaky backs - but after a number of phones this year I was set on a Nexus again and didn't want a 6 inch phone after the Moto X Style. This left me with little choice.

Like I say, not unhappy but hoping next years Nexus 5 exists as a better option for me.

All this. Is it so hard for manufacturers to make a premium 5" handset? I currently have both 5x and the HTC a9 and I slightly prefer the a9 but both phones are loaded with compromises.

Glad you like them! I have been on Moto phones since the OG Moto X, and I'm glad I switched to the Nexus this time around. I'm also loving my service with Project Fi. My bill is half what it was on Verizon.

The only issue I have with the hardware is the camera. It can take a few seconds to load up and in some apps it loads upside-down -- known issue -- because of the way they mounted it. Love the fingerprint reader and Android Pay works great.

I like my 5x and do not regret buying it. I don't LOVE my 5x like I LOVED my 5. In fact, I was not planning on buying a 5x until this:

Anyway, I like the better camera and better battery life. I don't like the larger size compared to the original 5, but sure beats the 6 and the 6p in that regard. I noticed that I have to reboot the 5x more often than the 5 in order to clear up some lag that comes on after a week straight of being on, but that's not a huge deal.

Anyway, I don't regret buying it at all, but it doesn't blow me away like the 5 did.

Is it possible that you might have a program that isn't compatible?

I like it except still finding it slightly too large to be comfortable in the hand. Not so bothered as to be prepared to change it, but possibly my 2nd choice of Xperia Z5 Compact would have suited me better.

It is still quite large for a phone.

Looked at the Z5c and seriously considered it. But, it wasn't yet available in the US at the time of comparison, the price was like 2x the cost of the N5X, and I prefer that the OS not have any extras or skins on it (Motorola's Pure has the right amount of skin, I think--everyone else's is a little too much)....so 5X for me.

No regrets :)

Cool. I find the skin very light on the z5c actually. I like that the apps can be uninstalled or disabled. I'd use a launcher either way so it comes down to size for me. I really hate unnecessary bezels on a phone. 5x looks like a great phone otherwise.
