Anyone regret getting it. Or worry about how its future performance will be? I mean 2gb ram seems a little low. I know the 6p is a little to big for most but that lddr4 3gb ram is nice..

RAM is not a big issue. Remember iPhone 6 also has only 1G ram but it's a great device.

I have no regrets also.

The 2GB RAM spec did give me pause, but I am hoping that with the Nexus being Google's baby that they will write their code with extreme efficiency in mind to make the 2GB RAM work for several years to come.

I'm not unhappy with the 5x. I think the RAM issue is a none issue and generally the specs are fine and it mostly runs stutter free.

I just wish it was a bit more premium. I like metal and I don't like creaky backs - but after a number of phones this year I was set on a Nexus again and didn't want a 6 inch phone after the Moto X Style. This left me with little choice.

Like I say, not unhappy but hoping next years Nexus 5 exists as a better option for me.

This is kind of how I feel I held the 5x and 6p yesterday and the 5x feels cheap while the 6p is so good.. I have a nexus 5 right now.. And I'm sick of the plastic..

Don't mind the plastic myself, but I use a case so it isn't "in my face" all the time and I don't have any "creaky spots."

Mind you, there is a noticeable difference in quality of materials between the 5X and the comparable (and a little nicer Moto X Pure Edition), but device size was the overriding factor to choose the 5X over the Pure (and any of the other phablets).

Really, I just want a device that I can use one-handed, that will connect me to the Google Cloud where I organize my life and learn a little more about the world every day (news, research, etc). I'm getting to the point where I don't need the flagship devices that cost hundreds more and am very happy with a reliable, stable, and future-proof (for support) device. The 5X fits that to a T.

I am exceedingly happy with my 5X - no issues of any kind, and as others have mentioned, there are not a lot of choices if you want something that is a one handed device.

And of course the best thing of all about Nexus - pure unadulterated Android! No OEM bloat - no carrier bloat - and updates direct from Google - no waiting on delays caused by the OEM or the carriers.

Amen.

I think I made a mistake with Nexus 5x. I waited till Android 6 and Nexus 5+ to try stock Android. Total disaster for me. Even a simple thing like answering a call is a struggle. When the phone is fingerprint locked, the screen does not light up. There is no one touch answer. WTF? I don't want to swipe right or left while I'm eating or driving, thank you! And look at the size of the speaker phone button, and even the call answering buttons. Any fool can make simple things complicated, but ...

I am not new to Android. I've been using Android for years with Samsung Galaxy phones. Those guys figured out how to keep simple things simple. I used to delete all the bloatware and use the UX enhancements. Stock Android is still lacking! May be wait till Android 10.

Think about it. You can use the power button to lock the screen. Use the fingerprint to open it. Set the power button to open the camera on double touch. But no single touch setting to answer a freaking call!

Ehhhhhh, I have no trouble answering a locked phone. The screen comes on, I touch and swipe to answer, no problem. Not sure what's going on for you.

"Regret. It piles up around us like books we never read."

Ehhhhhh, I'm using Project Fi on my 5X, and I'm not having any problems. It's stupid good actually. But you're experience will vary based on market area.

I see little difference between a tap and a short swipe--both require minimal screen interaction, which IMO is keeping it pretty simple.

Some people really like naked Android (me!). Some people prefer the add-ons that make each manufacturer's device unique. The best choice of phone is the one that suits you best, that fits your needs, and the one you are most comfortable with.

No regrets getting mine. Probably one of the better Smartphones I have ever owned.

I love my N5X. I've been using it with Project Fi for 3 weeks, and it has been excellent. The coverage is just as good as I was getting on Verizon.
