Release Date?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Android doesn't support dual cores yet. The idea of getting a "Google" phone is that there is no bloatware, it's a developer phone, you are first to receive new OS's.
The phone being pushed back only makes sense due to manufacturing issues and supply constraints from Japan plants.

I thought that all Samsung parts were made in Korea.... I may be wrong though.....

Ns4g / gsii

I was dead set on upgrading to the Nexus S 4G, but with these delays the Galaxy S II continues to get my attention.

Sprint may loose some customers with these delays.. smh

I got my EVO yesterday and I rooted it and loaded the Cyanogen ROM (pretty much "vanilla" gingerbread like the Nexus) and I love it.

I will probably still swap for a Nexus assuming it comes out in the next 30 days. I'd rather have the newer hardware from a resale perspective. Also I suppose the OLED screen and a more "official" OS will be nice.

We have all seen May 1st and May 8th dates floating through the forums, but Sprint usually doesn't release jack on a Sunday, so hopefully sprint employees can pick up their training in two or three weeks and we can see the phone May 2nd or 9th.

The Echo, HTC Evo Shift, and HTC Arrive were Sunday releases. The replenish will be a May 8th Sunday release. Dunno why you think they don't release "jack" on Sundays.....

Not sure how much water this will hold with all of you guys here, but I was at the BB I used to work at yesterday and asked one of my friends in mobile to look up the release date in the inventory system. He said it shows a release date sometime between 4/24 & 4/28. I'm taking him at his word but I see no reason he would lie to someone who he used to work with and still hangs out with on occasion, an actual customer would be different since I used to lie to customer's face's everyday because I didn't want to deal with them. Just sayin.

I was just at BB...the guy told me it was supposed to come out same date as Echo (17th) but it has been pushed back 2 weeks. As was the Echo (it was supposed to be released on the 3rd) and the HTC Thunderbolt. They pushed that one back 2 weeks as well...He said it should be May 1st. I really hope so!

As far as the guy that says they don't release anything on Sunday...I dunno why this guy even posted that!!! Most things they release come out on Sundays except Movies and Music! LOL

As far as the guy stating the reason we are slow at getting it because of Japan's crap...Well, that is crap too!! Canada released their Nexus S 4g last week!! So, Japans crap wouldn't have anything to do with it!

I still say May 1st...Wish it were sooner...if it isn't out by then, guess I'll get the Evo, then swap it out within the 30 days!

Friendly word of advice, Animal99, but your tone comes close to flaming, which is NOT allowed in this forum.

As to the Japan comments, I was reporting what I was TOLD BY SAMSUNG!!! If you want to call someone a liar, try doing it to the HORSE'S MOUTH!! In addition, in Canada, NONE of the stores actually HAVE any of the Nexus S 4G's physically in stock yet (I called them on the phone).

Also, Verizon, TMobile, AT&T and Sprint, up until recently, did NOT usually release phones on Sunday. this is something new within the last 2 months or so.

Sprint and Best Buy stores are expecting to physically receive Nexus S 4G's in stock in the next couple days, with a street date of April 28. NONE of them are reporting delays, and nor is Sprint Telesales. I spent more than 3 hours today calling more than 20 stores to get this information, and all said the same thing.

Please watch the flaming....it is NOT welcome here.

Everyone settle down or I will lock this thread. Let's get back on topic with some civil discussion.
totally agree with you I was just thinking about how I was going to just stop following this thread when you said something, I would much rather hear about a release date for the Nexus S on Sprint!

This thread cant be locked! Its too exciting : )

No kidding! This thread has everything, mystery, suspense and now drama! :)

I really, really hope that end of april release date pans out! Don't you think we would have heard an official announcement by now though? That is only little over a week away.

Perhaps Sprint is wanting to make this a "secret" release. Don't know why they would though, getting a Nexus on your network just means a win all around.

maybe it'll be out soon, i saw a poster at a sprint store in Michigan and it had a picture of the nexus s

posters went up at my store last wkd and the mgr there said he started training monday 4/18 and that typically phones are released 2 weeks following training. this fits with that leaked note about 4/18. he also said he would know 'days' in advance of the shipment and would let me know. of course, if i hear anything i will post - i'm hoping soon tho my orig pre is dying!

Thanks Richard 1864 for all the leg work you did to find out this information. I have been visiting all the forums to find out when will this phone come out. I was even at the Sprint store yesterday picking up a Epic for my husband and they didn't have the info that you gave us. :):):):):)

This

Every day the Nexus S 4G is delayed I want it less. The Galaxy S II will be my next phone. Can see upgrading to the Nexus when the specs look more lame everyday in comparision to the new phones coming out in the upcoming 2 to 4 months.

want nexus s badly... I am anxiously waiting for Nexus S to arrive... Retentions were kind enough to re-set my upgrade eligibility to 04/01 (I was due 01/12).... I have been pretty much reading this forum every hour to hear the good news (nexus s on sprint is here).....
I have "played" with t-mobile nexus s at my local Best Buy store and was more than impressed... this is "THE" phone I am looking for.
C'mon sprint get it done asap....

I have a feeling the reason why there isn't a lot of fanfare from Sprint about this phone is due to the fact that these developer phones that lack "bloatware" cost more for the carrier in the end. That bloatware is paid for by the creator of the software. Kind of like when you buy a new HP or Dell computer and all that crap is on there. Helps to lower the cost of the PC.

I agree with you. I just don't like people giving statements without source's or proof or facts...I don't know what people call them types of people where you live...

All Samsung devices are made in Seoul, Korea... Call them or write them a letter:
SAMSUNG Electronics,
SAMSUNG Main Building,
250, 2-Ga, Taepyung-Ro Chung-Ku
Seoul, Korea 100-742

Tel : 82-2-727-7396
Fax : 82-2-727-7349

And Canada stores have them...Please call:

In Stock
Best Buy Taschereau
Taschereau Boulevard
1000, rue Auguste
Greenfield Park, Quebec, J4V 3R4
Phone: (450) 766-2300

There are MANY stores in Canada that have them...guess you didn't call them all...

Also, Verizon, TMobile, AT&T and Sprint, up until recently, did NOT usually release phones on Sunday. this is something new within the last 2 months or so.

I agree with this...

And...I was just merely stating that the facts that people were stating in these posts were not correct...giving a more detailed response and backing up my statements with actual sources...

Thanks...and I'm sorry if people think that is flaming...but stating actual facts to me is not flaming...
