Nexus release date

First post here but had to chime in. I want the nexus s so I went to my local sprint store to order. At first they were a little dumfounded but after some manager talk I was able to reserve one for 50 bucks. I chatted it up with the associate who was really great. Anyways I mentioned the 18th release date from the flyer and he said I'm gonna do this...and then smiled hinting that was right. Let's hope because seems like a sound tip!

i just chatted with best buy asking about the release date because im interested in this, but apparently the release has been delayed. i attached a picture showing the chat.

That is not reliable info. those agents are overseas and have no clue on when things are going to be released.

How can it be delayed when there is no official public release date?

Delay??? DELAY??? I'm considering waiting to preorder until they announce a date. I hate to cough up $50, only to have to wait for two months to get the phone. You know how these phone companies are...

All signs point to them having at least a tentative date in mind. Operators were not shy about pointing us to the week of the 20th. That tentative date might have been delayed, which would push my estimated DOA to mid-May (hey, I can guess, right?).

That would really suck for those people who purchased an EV04G planning to trade it in for the Nexus to keep their upgrade.

That's exactly what I did when I bought my Evo last week. I had every intention of trading it for a nexus as soon as it is released. I have until April 24th to return the Evo. I am actually considering keeping the Evo, I absolutely love it. Of course, coming from my Hero, any new phone would be amazing to me.

I have never been excited about a phone before but this one really moves me a bit :)

One question that someone may be able to answer... all reservations aside....I have 2 separate SERO-P lines... one is mine the other is my wife's. She is eligible for an upgrade right now but I'm not due til middle of next year. If/when it gets released and it's available online can I just order one online using her discount(assuming Sprint doesn't do away with the "instant" discounts in favor of the mail-in rebate crap) then once it arrives attach it to my account paying only the upgrade price on her account(presumably $199/tax/shipping)?

Wow, it sure seems like they are trying hard to keep a subsidized Nexus S out of the hands of the people who lost their upgrades on April 1st.

Wow, this sucks if it's true.

Might as well wait for the dual-core CDMA Nexus...

....ugh

May 1st!!? Oh well I was hoping for a mid-April launch. I'm not eligible for an upgrade so I guess it's all the same for me. Paying full price.
