Just had my office manager try to pre-order through our corporate account...no dice and they keep trying to push an EVO on me.
I am betting that they release this phone on May 1st. Since they are releasing the Echo on the 17th it will probably be a couple of weeks until this phone comes out. I tried to preorder one at my local Sprint store and they would not do it. I was put on a list to be notified when the phone would be available. I was told the list is how they order their allocation of phones so there will be enough on launch day. I was first on the list so I guess (hope) I will be notified.
Since I have 5 lines in my account I have bought phones from Best Buy or the Shack because you don't have to deal with rebates. Also Best buy doesn't have fees if you want to exchance your device. Good luck

Nice find, Shabbypenguin. Sprint did an online pre-order type of thing for the Echo if I'm not mistaken. I believe it was open for current premier customers. I hate going to Sprint stores, so it would be awesome if that's what this is.
Right now there are only instant rebates at Sprint so you don't have to deal with mail in ones. I purchased from Best Buy the last time I got a phone and when I tried getting a replacement battery from the Geek Squad it took me 3 months for them to get it right. I will not be purchasing from them in the future.
I don't know why they never give a release date anymore, even if its a half a year away. It just would be nice to have a solid date.

While I was in my stores backroom today, my manager showed me a holding claw for a phone display, and me being curious asked what it was for. He said it was for the Nexus S 4G, and also told me that they only send claws when they are close to releasing the device. I'm pretty stoked and can't wait to ditch my Epic 4G for the Nexus S!

That's great! Can't wait to get my Nexus! Anyone else have news on when it comes out?

No I wasn't able to but that was like over a week ago, I had to pre-order through Best Buy
God I hope so. I'm going on vacation the end of next week and my Palm Pre is on life support.
That is so funny I have like the same exact scenario: Sprint Palm Pre and have taken off Friday to begin my vacation a day early, so I hope it comes out before I hit the road on Friday.

Sprint usually launches handsets on Sundays... I say usually because The EVO was launched on a Friday and the Epic was a Tuesday...
Palm Pre was on a Saturday I believe. I don't think there is much of an order to their release dates for smartphones.
Agree. The Nexus page will that Shabbypenguin linked to will probably go live on Thursday, and the phone will probably go on sales in stores on Sunday.
Yeah, I don't think we have specific days for launches. The Echo launches on Sunday :-!
