Removed Google voice - doubled battery life

I had to download it from the market. I was actually hoping someone knew if a better app that didn't drain my battery as much. Oh well.

Maybe HTC sense phones do not come with Google voice. I swear on my nexus I think it came pre installed.

You're right.

And i have Gvoice on every phone here, with inbox sync. No battery impact, not even listed as using any battery in settings or spare parts. Which makes sense, since it's a pushed Google service and won't use any more battery than the Market or Gmail.

For those who see bad battery life from voice, what does system panel show for its CPU usage? Or spare parts or OS monitor I think would work too. But best would be system panel.

Yesterday I got rid of Google voice and my battery immediately went back to normal.

Normal battery life on my EVO is terrible.

Have you tried reformatting it? My wife did that on her evo and it made a huge difference.

I've had zero problems using Google Voice as my voicemail since launchday.

For what it's worth, installing Google voice didn't seem to have any impact on my battery.
