Replacement Device, how do I use smart switch?

My Galaxy Note 5 began giving me Samsung Gear VR install, not charging notification, and the dock is connected notifications non stop. Days on end. Verizon Sends me a replacement Note 5 to swap sim card and activate. Can I use smart switch move my files, apps, etc. with only one phone having a sim card?
