Hey everyone, I've been searching for a while online but haven't been able to find an answer, so hopefully you can help.

I remember reading that rooting your device can brick Google Wallet if you don't reset the app, but when I go to reset Google Wallet, the option isn't even there. Did anybody else get their tablet and set everything up, only to want to root it and have Google Wallet be fine in the end? I just don't wanna mess my Nexus up. Thanks for the help.

To be safe, reset it before unlocking yes, and before flashing any new ROMs.

In wallet its in Menu> Settings. Hard to miss :)

Am I blind? When I'm in the wallet app, I press menu, and there's no settings option.

I got it. I didn't realize that there was another screen than just the card selection. Thanks for your help again.

Hi, will just copy paste my post from phandroid regarding this same topic:

-----------------
I have rooted and unlocked my Nexus 7, and yes, when setting google wallet after all that, I did get my $10 prepaid credit, and then I updated to the latest Google wallet version that allows you to register any type of credit card (visa, amex, etc). Which I did.

I went to the store just with the intention to pay with my tabblet, and it worked!!! And yes, I also got the "unsupported warning" for being rooted, but that does not stop the app from working perfectly. The selected card for that transaction was the credit card I registered, and I didn't have an internet connection for the transaction to be completed succesfully (very cool).

I haven't done a transaction with the prepaid $10 credit yet, but it should be no problem since I think it's even less complex than what I did above.
-----------------------------------

Cheers
