Restarting repeatedly for several hours, what can I do that will not involve a factory reset?

Restarting repeatedly for several hours

My Nexus 5 has started periodically encountering this problem about once a month or so where it will just shut off and then repeatedly restart, never getting out of the start up process. It will then be unable to turn on for hours, restarting itself anytime it is booting up. This will last for hours, sometimes a day, and then will just start fine and not have any issues for another month or so. Any recommendations without a factory reset?

Welcome to Android Central!

You can try wiping the cache partition and if that does not work I am afraid doing a factory reset is the other option.
