Restore fingerprint

Hello, I set up my fingerprint on my device and a password as a back up, well now my dumb phone doesn't read my finger print and it tells me to restore it, but the only way to do it is by typing the password that I created, and for the life of me I cannot remember my password..so is there a way to go around that, or my only choice will be a factory reset? Thanks

You can try to unlock your phone at findmymobile.samsung.com. If not then I think you'll have to do a hard reset.

Did you do a backup?

Make sure it cannot read your fingerprint! Mine gets funky, but reads once I turn my thumb the right way & hold it
