Resuming Spotify playlist some time later

I occasionally like to stream a playlist from Spotify (as a free version user) but often do not have enough listening time to thoroughly exhaust it (or myself).

Was wondering what happens if I resume playback the next day or the next week even by pressing Play on the currently playing track. Does it continue with the previous shuffle order or start again? Presumably if I press Play on the playlist itself that does force a reshuffle?

On my Spotify it opens back up where I left off. Even where I was in the song.

Possible gets cleared out of RAM memory as you using other apps if gone that far
