I recently installed the superclean 2.9.1 nonvoodoo on my fascinate but, now i want to install the voodoo version of this build.

Is it safe to use ODIN to reflash the phone w/o battery, or can i just use the download option in menu (with battery in) and flash the voodoo using the red CWM menu.

Not sure whats the best way to do it and I am having trouble finding this specific situation by searching.

until you are comfortable enough to answer that on your own, leave the battery out.

when you get to the point that you can say "i wonder what happens if i do this?" and then do it just to find out, then try it.

i say it this way because there is a huge variance in results with download mode. safest is pull battery.

Just rooted and pushed super frankenclean2.9 and now my home and menu buttons aren't working. Any suggestions? Still learning but I learn fast

My first guess would be a bad kernel flash. I would reflash the EB16 kernel via CWM.

I drained my battery to 0 then let it charge then I wiped battery stats.

You should not be draining a lithium ion battery to 0. Do a google search on "completely discharging a lithium ion battery" and check out some of the articles in the results. Every single article says for best performance, keep the Li ion battery at least at 40% charge, and every article mentions how damaging it can be to completely discharge these batteries to 0.

Happened to me when I updated to 2.8 SC. I had to go back into CWM and clear our cache and dalvik, and they came back.

Ok. I flashed 2.9 last night via DroidXcon step by step instruction. Everything went pretty smooth. Now i'm trying to do the 2.9.1 patch from this thread. I have the file downloaded but it will not extract here?? Any suggestions?

Don't extract. Place on SD card and use clockwork.

You already have clockwork installed, you just need to go into recovery and flash the file
