Adrynalyne - thanks for the post...

Qucik question: is that a different updated kernel than what JT has posted on xda? or is it the same one? (0327-2)

Thanks again for all of your hard work!

JOrtenzi, our bad for not reading it carefully. Adrynalyne says he took jt's kernel and further undervolted it. Sorry Adry, no need to respond.

curious, its states for non voodoo to place a file in the voodoo folder on sd card. that file is already there on my sd card, does that mean I can CWM the patch and have the updated kernel?

If you already have a file in your clockworkmod folder labeled disable_lagfix, it sounds like you are free to flash the kernel in cwm

k you stated clockworkmod folder but first post states "Changelog:

EC10 source built kernel. Uses jt's source, has bln/voodoo color/voodoo sound as expected. Is further undervolted than jt's. Voodoo only. For nonvoodoo add, a disable_lagfix file or folder to a Voodoo directory on your sdcard.
ttp://www.mediafire.com/?cs1a17dmdpyr6wc"

Voodoo directory (folder).

Sorry, just being overly precautious. Soft bricked my phone once. Trying to avoid any repeats

Changelog is just a list of what was changed between the previous version and the current version. I goofed when I said clockwork folder. Still had that in my head from helping someone else. Check the voodoo folder on your sd card and see if there is a folder or file in your voodoo folder that says disable_lagfix. If there is, you are free to flash the kernel in cwm. If there is no such folder, create one before you flash the kernel.

k, thanks Landshark and Adrynalyne. Flashing now

EDIT:

after flashing phones seems a little happier to use the back button to get out of things. Can back out of MMS faster and programs faster.

How do i remove the epic lockscreen choice? if i choose it, my fascinate wont boot fully ... it will go to samsung..the loading bootanimation... then desktop.... scanning media... then vibrates twice... then back to bootanimation.. in a endless loop until i boot into recovery and do a wipe... then it works fine.. but is there a way to remove epic lockscreen as a choice?

i have 2.9.2 superclean (latest) rooted ect..

Ok I am having a problem with the new kernel. I flashed it and now having the problem with it force closing on me when I have it charging. It then will reboot its self but only if it is on charge. I flashed back to the old kernel I had and it's working better im going to download it again and flash it again to see if that helps just wanting to know if anyone else is having the same problem.

Being that this is my first time using an under volted kernel, I am not really sure of what it really does. I know that it should improve battery life, but are there other benefits as well? Also, is flashing an UV kernel the only step need to take advantage of its capabilities, or is there anything else I should do to access its potential?

THANKS!

just want to say thanks to everyone who worked on this. 2.92 has been the best ROM ive flashed yet. battery is working great..running mean and lean

I installed the last kernel posted here, but I did it with the vodoo\disable_lagfix so would not voodoo my phone.

My question is: do I have to voodoo the phone in order to benefit from the undervolted feature? how do I know the kernel took? I did see the blue words while flashing the kernel.

Do I need to install voodoo control and bln apps if I use Adry's kernel?

Thanks

Only if you wish to utilize those features.

Undervolted is undervolted. The purpose of it is to run the CPU at a lower voltage, usually with increased timings to maintain speed, to increase efficiency thus improving battery performance. Most kernels have other features built into them (which are listed) and this one is no exception.

The kernel may not be fully utilized when not used with it's intended file system. Seeing the blue characters like you mentioned is the first sign the install took. You can also tell with a voodoo kernel by checking the voodoo menu in CWM recovery. It would have been switched the lagfix status for next boot to enabled unless you manually disable it like it sounds like you did.
