[Retired][ROM]Superclean 2.9.2 EA15/EB01/EB16/EC10 Based

continuing on my previous post....rarely see 3g in the top bar...always seems to be 1x...why?

Pull the battery out , hold power button and volume buttons for about ten seconds . Then put battery back in. Forces it to rescan

Hopefully this question has not been answered a billion times, I searched heartily but perhaps I missed it:
My first custom rom was SC 2.9. I noticed all was working well, and I had a choice of all these lock screens. I use the pattern unlock, but I played around with the different lockscreens and left it on AOSP. I flashed the 2.9.1 patch, then the 2.9.2 full ROM in CWM. When I got a call yesterday, I realized that there is no Ignore function on the AOSP lockscreen, so I went to change it back to Puzzle Unlock, since that has Answer, Hang up, AND ignore options when a call comes in. However, I go into my display settings, and regardless of which one I pick the AOSP stays active. Any ideas how to get my puzzle lock back?
I had this problem a while back too and I am trying to remember how I finally got it to stick. I think I might have pressed on the choice button longer then you would think you need to. If that doesn't do the trick then I might have pressed the choice button once and then pressed it again before exiting the choice window.

Sorry I can't remember the exact fix.

Can anyone tell me how to delete the built-in bookmarks in the browser? I've tried long-press, then select 'delete bookmark' but it is denying me access.

The correct choice is staying (it says it's on puzzle lock on the selection screen and in the main display settings) but it's always AOSP when the phone is locked and it rings.

regarding the music app, recently added playlist? is that working for people on 2.9? its not for me...

My battery life has been rocking since the change. I had good usage yesterday, and it made it from 7 am to 10:15pm, with just a 10 min car charge in the afternoon, to give it a few percents of power.

thanks

A quick observation?

First, let me say thanks to Adrynalyne! You have done so much to improve the experience of these phones. That said, please do not think that I am criticizing any of yours, or any of the generous contributors, awesome work. I have little that I can contribute, so it is my only hope that this somehow helps.

My apologies if this has already been identified. It *seems* to me that there is a correlation between the deodex versions and the Black Screen of Death on my Fascinate I500. I installed the bloat version (EB01_DXC.tar) of 2.2 and everything works very well. As soon as I install any deodex version (EB01DB_DXC.tar), I get the Black Screen of Death. By this I mean that the screen goes to black and never wakes up, requiring a battery pull. For comparison purpose, I installed the bloated version of 2.2 and all worked well. I then installed the deodex version and I started getting the Black Screen of Death. It doesn?t seem to matter whether I use Voodoo or non-Voodoo Super Clean, the results are the same. I have attempted Super Clean 2.1 ? 2.9.1 and experienced the same issue.

Again, this is only intended to help and thanks to all who have worked so hard to make this possible.

Hey all,

Decided to flash to SC2.9.2 and I am in CWM red mode. I wiped the cache and dalvik cache. Now when I attempt to load the zip file I cannot do anything in red mode. I have the follow error meassages:

E:Missing bitmap progress_empty
(Code -1)
E:missing bitmap progress_fill
(Code -1)
CwM Voodoo Lagfix Recovery v.2.5.1.x

A battery pull will get me to recover then I can reboot to the phone.

Any ideas?

EDIT: HOLD on before replying. I imay have just done something dumb...
EDIT EDIT: Yup...The home key no workie on CWM red...The power button is much better...

A Gun and Gunner moment... ;-)

Mike

If you have those error messages in white toward the bottom of your screen, you still have cwm-froyo and not cwm-all. Connect your phone to your computer with usb debugging enabled and delete any update.zip you have on your sd card. Then flash this CWM-ALL in ODIN. Do not extract the file, do not unzip it, place it as is in the PDA section and hit start, should only take 7 seconds. Put battery back in and reboot phone. You should now boot directly to red cwm-all every time. When you are in red cwm, you do not hit apply sdcard:update.zip at all, don't touch it.

So I have gotten a little flash happy (like most of us right now... exciting times!) and I decided I would like to "start over". What would be the best process to take in order to get the deepest wipe possible and start from a nice clean slate?

Thanks in advance!

I think I wanna do that too. For some reason, I have 2 of the same Facebook accounts on my contacts. Is that a glitch of some sorts?

Also, coming from 2.9.2 Non Voodoo, can I just enable the lagfix then flash the voodoo rom?

Put the VooDoo ROM on your SD card, flash it from CWM, then enable lagfix, then reboot.

No need to get that complex. The ROM itself is not voodoo or nonvoodoo, only the kernel. You can leave sc 2.9.2 as is, download the voodoo kernel of your choice to your sd card, boot to recovery, flash the kernel, hit menu soft key until you are at the main cwm menu where reboot system now is highlighted, but don't reboot. Scroll down to voodoo, power button, enable lag fix should be highlighted, power button, when done, menu button once, power button, wait for phone to boot. Will take longer to boot, but you get to listen to female droid voice talking to you.

Read Gunnermike53's voodoo thread HERE and post any voodoo questions there

I have 2 facebook accounts too. Not a big deal as for some reason not all my facebook contacts synced with only one. Now they are all synced with both. Once was created when you created accounts, the other was created when you opened the facebook app and it asked if you wanted to sync contacts.

Thanks, Sharky. He said ROM so I just went along with it, but you're right. Only really need a compatible kernel, leave the ROM alone. Good catch.

Uh Oh, she said she is converting the partition. Time estimated 4 minutes!

She sounds kinda hot for a phone robot. Maybe I mess with my phone too much?

She is very helpful.

This seems easier than some people have made it out to be. Hopefully it is working correctly.
