So at this point if I wanted to go voodoo what do I do? delete the voodoo/disable_lagfix folder from the sd card and reboot? anything else?

Only if you wish to utilize those features.

Undervolted is undervolted. The purpose of it is to run the CPU at a lower voltage, usually with increased timings to maintain speed, to increase efficiency thus improving battery performance. Most kernels have other features built into them (which are listed) and this one is no exception.

The kernel may not be fully utilized when not used with it's intended file system. Seeing the blue characters like you mentioned is the first sign the install took. You can also tell with a voodoo kernel by checking the voodoo menu in CWM recovery. It would have been switched the lagfix status for next boot to enabled unless you manually disable it like it sounds like you did.

I replaced the mms.apk with one from another theme, all good. I've been a .net developer for a long time, and I'm amazed with how simple (in a good way) Android is. I find myself over thinking it all the time!

Yeah I hear ya, I replaced the boot animation from DarkRevenge into the VA Green Theme I'm running, it was so easy I was just kinda "that's it?" lol.

Just boot into CWM recovery and in the voodoo section select enable lagfix. You should see below it that it's status for next boot will say "enabled" Just reboot and it will start the file system conversion (with a cool female robot voice narrating) Takes ~5mins.

Ok so my problems so far. First i flashed the kernal 327 from xda yesterday everything worked good. Today i see the new kernal from adrynalyne on here so i Download it and flash it. My phone hates it, it starts to force close a bunch and then if i plug the phone in the charg it FC's and then keeps rebooting my phone. So i go back and flash the 327 again and my phones happy. So i think i have Ultimate_honeycomb_v3 theme on my phone and maybe its not liking the new kernal. So i reflash sc 2.9.2 to get back to a clean rom with it. Go back and flash the new kernal from this post and same problem. So my phone is hating the kernal any ideas to fix this?? Anyone else having this problem???

I've noticed that with some of these new kernels, you may need to flash it twice in a row. I flashed the first 327 kernel and got stuck in a boot loop. I pulled my battery and flashed it again, and all has been good since then!

Hopefully this question has not been answered a billion times, I searched heartily but perhaps I missed it:
My first custom rom was SC 2.9. I noticed all was working well, and I had a choice of all these lock screens. I use the pattern unlock, but I played around with the different lockscreens and left it on AOSP. I flashed the 2.9.1 patch, then the 2.9.2 full ROM in CWM. When I got a call yesterday, I realized that there is no Ignore function on the AOSP lockscreen, so I went to change it back to Puzzle Unlock, since that has Answer, Hang up, AND ignore options when a call comes in. However, I go into my display settings, and regardless of which one I pick the AOSP stays active. Any ideas how to get my puzzle lock back?

The more I play with themes the more I see issues. There are some great developers here that are doing wonderful work. The problem is that they are fine tuning / tweaking and getting us the latest and greatest. This is actually not a problem, however you need to be mindful that you will / may run into issues.

I have my apps and data backed up as well as my contacts which is all I really care about. When I have an issue I will go as far as doing a data wipe in CWM and start over. This may be what you need I hate to say.

These themes depending on complexity are over writing your files with custom files. In my experience playing with themes and trying to keep up on the latest / greatest causes more headache than it is worth.

Two options IMO:

1. If you want to be on the latest and greatest from the wonderful work the devs are doing around here stay away from themes and help report back issues on a clean rom / kernel.

2. If you want a theme and must have it find a stable rom / kernel that works with that theme and leave it alone. Wait wait and wait further for the latest and greatest to be tested by others. You can also have a theme and stay up to the latest / greatest however realize that when you run into issues your best bet is to start with clearing cache / davlik, to flashing over, and lastly to wiping data. If after data wipes and clean installs you still have issues this is what the developer needs to know. Most of the time the issue lies in either the theme flashing and or applications and not the rom / kernel itself.

Yea I get all of that but I did flash back to 2.9.2 sc. I didn't do a data but its when I plug this in the top part goes away like show no battery or service no 3g that's when it fc. Like the kernel does not like my 2.9.2 at all.

Hey all,

Decided to flash to SC2.9.2 and I am in CWM red mode. I wiped the cache and dalvik cache. Now when I attempt to load the zip file I cannot do anything in red mode. I have the follow error meassages:

(Code -1)
E:missing bitmap progress_fill
(Code -1)
CwM Voodoo Lagfix Recovery v.2.5.1.x

A battery pull will get me to recover then I can reboot to the phone.

Any ideas?

EDIT: HOLD on before replying. I imay have just done something dumb...
EDIT EDIT: Yup...The home key no workie on CWM red...The power button is much better...

A Gun and Gunner moment... ;-)

I understand and yes that is an odd problem however many people here are running this configuration without issues. Due to this I am afraid to say that there is either data corruption or permission issues.

If I was in your shoes and wanted to be on this release I would back up the data I need and wipe clean. Wipe data cache etc. Wiping data may fix any data corruption or permission issues.

Once clean flash 2.9.2 and boot. Ensure everything is working correctly. If everything is good boot to recovery and flash the new kernel of your choice that is compatible.

I know it sucks but it is what we sign up for when choosing to customize our phones. I myself kind of enjoy it to be honest but I am a sick puppy. :)
