I have the 2.9.1 zip on my sd card. But I'm stuck again. Is the clockwork already on my phone, since it was built into the 2.9 flash I installed last night?

sorry about that... this is what i posted on that thread

For any patch, just download the zip file on to your SD card. You can dl it straight to your phone, or on your computer then, put it on your SD card, whichever you prefer.
It doesn't really matter where it is, as long as you can find it when in recovery mode.
Go into recovery, it should be an option if you long press the power button.
When in recovery, go down to the option, using the volume rocker, that says "Install zip from SD card", press the power button to confirm that selection
Find the file you want to apply, hit the power button to select the file
It will take you to a confirmation screen where u gotta scroll down to "yes" and hit the power button again. It'll install the file, then you back out using the search button, and reboot

I went into recovery and all it will do is scroll up and down. The power button will not select anything??

Now it shows a white triangle with a yellow exclamation in it

what color is your recovery? if it's not red, then first do the "apply sdcard:update.zip" option, that should bring you into the red recovery

i think you're in download mode, not recovery mode

I followed the directions but am still at the white triangle with yellow exclamation. Am I holding a brick?

I held down thr power button, went to recovery and went to apply update drom sd card with the volume button and hit the home button to select. it showed a status bar for about 2 seconds then the black screen with white triangleand yellow exclamation . it has been this way for about 10 minutes

ok phone is done booting up ,and yes my options were blue. I guess that was blue recovery?

Should the update zip from DroidXcon still be on my sd card from the 2.9 package? Or should I delete that

NO, don't delete that file
When you're in blue recovery, you need to "apply sdcard:update.zip", which should take you into a red recovery
Then you can follow the steps in applying your patch

im back to the white triangle again I have triple checked that the 2.9.1 zip is on my sd card. i went into recovery update sd home to select and it went straight to the white triangle
