Ooh, no I haven't come across or heard of that syncing problem. On a slightly related issue I have become the new drug pusher pushing this awesome calendar app called Jorte. It is free, and is formatted just like a day planner. Best thing is, unlike the stock calendar, when you are in the month view, you can actually see the wording of your appointments, not just a blip. It will sync all your current google calendar events and appointmets, facebook birthdays, and even holidays. I leave mine on the two week view, and can just sweep the screen from right to left to move one week at a time to look at what is coming up ahead in the next month.

I will put it at the top of the list of things to try. i still havent decided on my "default" app for a lot of different things (calender, music player, clock, ect). Does jorte sync independently with google calender? I guess I am asking if I should turn calender off in the sync settings?

I believe when you first install Jorte it gives you the option to sync with the google calendar.

this might be a little nitpicky, but that's just what kind of person i am

you know when you pull the notification bar down how it shows the date and time in place of the icons until you push it back up? well the time is already displayed on the right all the time so the time is displayed twice while the notification area (tray? idk what it's called. i'm an android noob) is open. is there a way to change this or do i have to wait for a new release? it's a small issue so i don't really expect the dev to fix it so i'm hoping i can do it myself :/

There is a setting in date/time to turn off the clock on the right side of the bar

I believe when you first install Jorte it gives you the option to sync with the google calendar.

At least for the moment I may have solved the sync problem. I went into "manage applications" and went to gmail. Force closed the app and cleared the data and cache and it is syncing like it should.

I installed jorte and will give it the run through but wanted to tell you that yeah, you do have the option to sync from there so I turned off the calender sync under settings.

Anyone know why my Tapatalk widget becomes invisible when I reboot my phone. It also loses all of my settings and login info.

The widget is still there because I can drag & hold the 'blank' space and drag it to the trash can to remove it from my home screen.

This only started happening after that Tapatalk error from yesterday... I un-installed then re-installed it from the market. Just frustrating.

Flash the Ultimate Honeycomb v3.1.1 theme. I am running that and only have the date on the left side when I pull down the notification bar. You can also go to Jaekar99's themes thread HERE, click on the previews, and see if any of the preview screenshots show the notification bar pulled down and whether the time is there on the left side.

Weird. Installed 2.9.2 and it deleted facebook, twitter, ESPN, and TWGTG launcher. Also battery displays 39% only after charging (doesnt charge past) and then two minutes later goes down to 5%.

reinstalled the apps. so no big. but the charging thing is weird

That doesn't sound good. How did you install 2.9.2?

I am running sc2.9.2 with no theme and noticed the four softkey backlight is not timed to the screen anymore. Plus when I unlock the phone the softkeys do not light up. I haven't seen any posts talking about this so is it just me?

Also, what is Nuance and is anyone using it?

You're not the only one to notice the soft key backlights don't come on with the screen. Most people have noticed periodically they do come on with the screen. Touching any of the soft keys after unlock will turn them on.

Bluetooth connectivity was not working with the EB01 build. Nuance is the patch to fix that bug

I flashed 2.9.2 on my phone and my wifes (works great on both BTW). We haven't came across any major issues.
One small thing is on my wifes phone, the clock on her notification bar comes up as a analog clock. Mine comes up as digital, but I turned it off.
How can I change hers to a digital clock as well, in settings it won't let me hide it either. Tried different themes and same thing.

thanks! i'll look into it. also, when i did a factory reset the other day it completely borked my phone and i had to reflash. it just froze at the samsung logo when booting. is this a known issue?

and one more thing (sorry if i'm being annoying): is voodoo worth the effort? it seems easy enough to do. i read the latest ec10 voodoo kernel has an issue with the home and back buttons both acting like back buttons so once this issue is fixed should i do it? i'm all for making my phone faster and the undervolted kernel might help me with my constantly draining battery

Why were you doing a factory reset and how did you do it?

I always recommend new rooters gain experience and get proficient at flashing different things and doing modifications in nonvoodoo before moving on to voodoo. There's more to remember with voodoo, and mistakes made in voodoo have harsher effects than nonvoodoo. You won't see a huge increase in speed with voodoo. Most people refer to their phones being "snappier" not necessarily faster with voodoo. Undervolted kernels will be out for both voodoo and nonvoodool, so no need to switch to voodoo just for that. I was using an undervolted kernel included in superclean .9 way back on DL09 Eclair, and that was nonvoodoo.

some of my info pulled from google was messed up and it wouldn't let me get rid of it through the accounts & sync menu cuz some other applications were using it or something so i went to settings -> privacy -> factory data reset. everything's been working fine after i reflashed tho so i don't think i'll have to do it again. must have been a glitch with my initial sync with google

ah i see. ok then i guess i'll wait and see what develops. my phone is fast enough for my liking already with sc2.9.2 and ec10nv

p.s. the honeycomb theme you recommended is AWESOME. i just wish it didn't change my icons for facebook and whatnot. i got used to the default icons. oh well

I actually like some of the new icons in Ultimate Honeycomb. The phone icon is awesome. Better put your seat belt on because it's going to be a wild ride over the next few weeks with what is being developed from the Mesmerize source code that was released a few days ago.

Got both the facebook app and my account set up on my phone. Tried syncing , display options etc etc, none of which worked. I know the problem is with the sns somewhere..if I have a picture from my camera set as a contact pic, it will show up in sms..just not the fb pics.

I am running bare bones right now. I don't even have a short cut on my home page.Haha.

Never have used handcent, always the stock sms.

I am positive it worked on 2.9.1. It's really no big...just one those annoyances I am set to conquer

I fixed the fact that the contact pics from joined Fb accounts wouldn't show up in messaging.. I had to remove my existing fb account and re-sync everthing and re-join all the contacts. A Long arduous process, but at least I see my contact pics in sms..
