Why were you doing a factory reset and how did you do it?

I always recommend new rooters gain experience and get proficient at flashing different things and doing modifications in nonvoodoo before moving on to voodoo. There's more to remember with voodoo, and mistakes made in voodoo have harsher effects than nonvoodoo. You won't see a huge increase in speed with voodoo. Most people refer to their phones being "snappier" not necessarily faster with voodoo. Undervolted kernels will be out for both voodoo and nonvoodool, so no need to switch to voodoo just for that. I was using an undervolted kernel included in superclean .9 way back on DL09 Eclair, and that was nonvoodoo.

some of my info pulled from google was messed up and it wouldn't let me get rid of it through the accounts & sync menu cuz some other applications were using it or something so i went to settings -> privacy -> factory data reset. everything's been working fine after i reflashed tho so i don't think i'll have to do it again. must have been a glitch with my initial sync with google

ah i see. ok then i guess i'll wait and see what develops. my phone is fast enough for my liking already with sc2.9.2 and ec10nv

p.s. the honeycomb theme you recommended is AWESOME. i just wish it didn't change my icons for facebook and whatnot. i got used to the default icons. oh well

I actually like some of the new icons in Ultimate Honeycomb. The phone icon is awesome. Better put your seat belt on because it's going to be a wild ride over the next few weeks with what is being developed from the Mesmerize source code that was released a few days ago.

Got both the facebook app and my account set up on my phone. Tried syncing , display options etc etc, none of which worked. I know the problem is with the sns somewhere..if I have a picture from my camera set as a contact pic, it will show up in sms..just not the fb pics.

I am running bare bones right now. I don't even have a short cut on my home page.Haha.

Never have used handcent, always the stock sms.

I am positive it worked on 2.9.1. It's really no big...just one those annoyances I am set to conquer

I fixed the fact that the contact pics from joined Fb accounts wouldn't show up in messaging.. I had to remove my existing fb account and re-sync everthing and re-join all the contacts. A Long arduous process, but at least I see my contact pics in sms..

I love the theme that comes with SC 2.9.2, except for the colors of the text bubbles in the Messaging app. I the sent/received bubbles are a very similar color, and I'd like to change at least one of them.

Can I simply edit an XML file for this? Can anyone point me to where that entry might be. Thanks.

There is no theme in SC 2.9.2.

I think I've seen people say you have to download handcent or other messaging app from the market to customize the messaging colors, or Flash a ROM that doesn't have this messaging feature, i.e. sc 2.9.

I think I've seen people say you have to download handcent or other messaging app from the market to customize the messaging colors, or Flash a ROM that doesn't have this messaging feature, i.e. sc 2.9.

You can also flash a theme. Some themes change the appearance of sms. Look at the screenshots on the developer's pages.

There is a way to change them back, but I'm not smart enough to know how to do that. Check out Jaekar99's themes thread. He is really good with pulling images and such.

If you are up for it it is in one of the Mms.apk\res\drawable\ (files).. I could not tell you which unless I opened all of them.

I replaced the mms.apk with one from another theme, all good. I've been a .net developer for a long time, and I'm amazed with how simple (in a good way) Android is. I find myself over thinking it all the time!

Yeah its so weird. I installed it via CWM red just like i always have.

I have an idea tho. Maybe it the apps were uninstalled since they were themed. I had NitroDark and i think the dev. included his own apk's. So once the full rom was flashed, it took the theme off, and with that, the themed apps. I think the TW GTG Launcher was removed also since its TouchWiz and superclean removes all touchwiz.

as for the battery, i just cleared batt stats and charged it to full. so far it isnt giving me weird read-outs after that, so im going to just re-sync the battery and see what happens.

Does this sound like a possible explanation?

It sound entirely possible as I know almost all the theme developers who put together a themed app pack tell you to uninstall all the stock apps of the themed ones, and the ones you listed sound exactly like the ones I remember

I have been using ChompSMS for a while now. you can customize just about everything.

You can even have the ringtone play when you are on the phone. Not sure why you would since the person you are talking to can hear it also... I turned that off in one of the many settings.

I haven't had a chance to get back to the forum since I flashed SC2.9.2 late Fri night (early Sat morning ;-) ). I'm loving it. I had to download the file to the sd card, I couldn't get it to transfer to the sd card from my computer.

Let's hear it for CWM! Flashed after wiping the cache & dalvik.

Today I also helped my nephew install CWM & the DD EB01. After showing him that I could use Flash & that the car dock worked like it is supposed to, he couldn't wait for VZ/Sammy either!

I backed up pictures and contacts, apps I can just download for the market. Formatted the class 10 32GB flash and put Super Clean 2.9.2 Voodoo
on it while connected to pc. I flashed red CWM with Odin. Went into CWM and wiped the three caches. Loaded Super Clean from the zip file. Rebooted and listened to the female android . Everything looked ok. Went into CWM again to check and enable Voodoo. Let it do its thing. Rebooted. Everything is working ok. I have noticed that the battery was dropping fairly quickly, I could watch the percentage number count down slowly. Read the forums about wiping the battery state and charge to full. So do I need to do it more than once to get it back to normal or did I mess it up and need to start over?

I have similar issues pretty randomly. I use drop box if my computer decides it doesn't wanna play that day.

I haven't read every post here, though I've read a number of them. I don't remember seeing anything about drop box. Sounds like I need it though! What ids it, where do I get it, etc.
