Are you returning your E3D for the Motorola Photon?

I saw a post by a Photon owner who said that it does default to mobile view but that once you have the mobile version up, you can get the full web version if you select the "view full site" option. So, I believe what choke is referring to is that there is no way in the phone's settings to default to full web view, not the inability to use the full web view. Or at least that's what I understand.

Does this create a problem?

Hi! I guess it depends. If it bothers someone to go through the extra steps to view the full web view then yes. If one wants to be able to set the phone initially to view the full site without going through the mobile view first apparently you can't do it, which means if you aren't prompted you would be stuck on the mobile view. To be honest I have never been on a mobile view without being given the option to view the full web version, but I guess it could happen.

Coming from a Pre, I've always preferred the mobile view. Are there sites where people typically prefer the full site view? Any of you have your phone set to view the full site view by default?

Unless I'm looking up an account or paying a bill I personally prefer the full web view.

Any particular reason?

Because I have access to all options and can see everything. The mobile view is usually very limited. That is OK for bill pay and stuff like that, but for example, posting here is better using the full view, imho.

I played with a Photon for a long time today at a local Sprint store. It's true that the browser defaults to the mobile view of every website and there are no options to change that behavior like there is on the 3VO. However, most mobile sites have a link at the bottom to change to the full view so I don't think this will be a problem for me.

So have you decided yet? I'm debating returning my Photon for the 3D; was going to do it today, but I keep backing off. I hate having two awesome devices to choose from.

I've had the EVO 3D for 3 days now; the only thing I'm disappointed with is its battery life, I can hardly make it through a day without charging it. I'm going to try to drain the battery a few times and do a full charge to see if this makes a difference, otherwise I really like the phone.

That's really the answer.

They are both great phones. Get whatever feels best to you. It is like arguing about what truck or car or shoes or beverage is better. They are all good.

Just curious being that you influenced me to get the EVO reading a few of your post on pc are you carrying the 3vo or something else as for myself I am waiting for a new web os phone but I have my 3vo and I like it

Whatever you like, show it some love in the Readers choice awards: Sprint's best Android phone.

Ok..Uof H grad, own 5 homes, vacay much and i'm telling you that all you have to do is try the photon out for the same amoummunt of days that you have given the E3D and without all the fixes for its poorness in performance and I guarantee that you will want to keep the Photon.

Umm, did you just voluntarily tell the forum of strangers you own 5 homes when it was completely unrelated to the topic? Anything else you want to disclose to prove your selfworth? You could own a small island in the Pacific and I don't think your opponion on smartphones is any more valid. I did want to congratulate you on all your success. You smell terrific.

Several awesome options is never a bad thing!

It will most likely improve. My battery life was not too great the first few days either, but now it seems to have settled in quite nicely. After a full day of work I usually am still safely in the green on the battery meter, typically between 70 and 80%. And that's with poor cell signal at work all day.

Yes, I've decided to get the Photon because most of its problems seem to be software related (fixable) whereas the 3VO's problems seem mostly hardware related (non-fixable). When my 3VO randomly rebooted last night while I was trying to leave this post, that was the last straw! I figured I'll give the Photon a chance and just see what happens. I am praying I get a flawless device like some have reported having.

can you explain about the hardware issues of the evo3d to all the people who have flawless ones?

Just things like the very low internal and external speaker volume, reception issues, etc. I know that some folks have flawless 3VOs just like some have flawless Photons. I hope to join the flawless Photon group! :-)
