A couple of comparative comments: Gnex, Razr and Rezound were all on my shopping list and had not made up my mind until the Costco deal surfaced. Honestly really liking my Rezound, so that colors my perception a bit I'm sure. I went and played with the Gnex side-by-side with my Rezound today and a few things jumped out at me: Gnex screen colors are a bit brighter, whites a little whiter. Call me delusional, but I could see a mild level of pixelation/fuzziness on the Gnex, the Rezound screen is just clearly sharper although they are both excellent screens and I would be happy with the Gnex screen. Very disappointed in the stutter I saw on the Gnex, I thought ICS hardware acceleration was going to kill that. Maybe the display model was messed up, but several times the screen actually hung up for a second midway through opening the app drawer. I put both phones in Map and set the screens to rotate with direction, when I rotated them together the Gnex almost always hesitated a bit before rotating, the Rezound never did. GPS acquisition was faster on the Rezound, the Gnex "uncertainty circle" never went away, while the Rezound's did. ICS is very cool, but has a bit of a learing curve...sometimes the menu buttons go to dots and you have to try to remember which ones were which (I'm actually kind of used to that on the RZ since the haptic buttons almost never light up unless it's almost full dark, hope HTC can bugfix that). The Gnex is very nice looking, slim and lighter than my chubby RZ, the curved screen is classy...but they had the battery cover taped on with duct tape. I know in real life you won't go around with a cable glued to the back of your phone and 200 people a day playing with it, but nevertheless that was a disturbing picture, considering the phone had only been on display for a day. I did test camera shots side-by-side and both looked similarly sharp, the RZ pics were a little truer to color than the Gnex, who's pics had a kind of grayish tint comparison. Speedtest results showed the Gnex running about 20% faster in download than the RZ in that particular location. Playing with the home screens on the Gnex, I kind of missed being able to go all the way around instead of back and forth, but this is probably not a big deal since I'm finding it's actually faster to quick-tap the home button and jump straight to the home screen I want. I've found the 7 home screens to be quite useful on the RZ, I think I'd miss that going back to the 5 on the Gnex. My phone is my primary (only, really) portable player, and unlike what appears to be the majority of users, I'm finding the Beats enhancement and buds to be fantastic...I've always been accused of over-boosting my bass so it's a great fit for me (btw, try listening to the Demon Days version of Gorillaz' "Dare" on the RZ - holy cow). Also unlike what appears to be the majority, coming from 2 years of a "plain vanilla" Android experience on my OG Droid (which I loved), I have found the RZ's Sense UI refreshing, slick, and attractive; and at least on my phone it does not appear to bog the interface down a bit. Because of this, I don't mind waiting a bit for ICS, and I'm hoping HTC keeps the best of Sense when they port ICS over to the RZ. In summary, I don't think either phone is startlingly better than the other, at $50 vs. $300 there is no contest, if I was paying full freight for both it would be a very close horse race which for me I think the RZ would win by a nose based on perceptions of a slightly better screen, better camera, better build quality, lack of lag, possibly better battery life (based on some fairly-disturbing reviews I've read on the Gnex, see The Verge review, no personal observation) free $100 earbuds and an awesome music experience.
