Rezound vs Incredible 4G LTE

The only thing that the Rezound has over the Dinc4G is the screen, and that's only if you prefer a larger size. 4.3" would be optimal for me but I can live with 4". If you're worried about the pixel density, reviewers who have handled the phone say it is very sharp and on-par with the One X's screen.

The Dinc4G has a qHD screen which will be perfectly suitable for me and I probably won't even notice a difference. It also has the S4 processor, which should make it faster, and give much better battery life. NFC and Bluetooth 4.0 are also things the Rezound does not have, as well as ICS and Sense 4.0.
Now that's just on the specs side, I remember holding the Rezound for the first time and thinking "Wow. This phone is really thick and heavy!". The Dinc4G will be thinner and ALOT lighter. This will make it easier to hold with one hand, and better for listening to music while exercising/jogging so you don't feel like your carrying an extra weight; Not to mention a lighter, thinner phone just feels better, and this phone isn't really too thin at all (It's actually considered to be on the thick side!).

I also think the 3 button layout looks aesthetically better, and it has a raised power button. The volume rocker might be easier to press as well. The downside to the 3 button layout is the menu button for some apps takes onscreen space, but this will easily be fixed by rooting and messing around with a few files. Also, it shouldn't have the overheating issue the Rezound has, because of the new S4 processor.

Oh, and the camera should be a bit better as well. And it has the Droid branding, which will make Verizon pay attention to it more (maybe...?).

The only doubts I have about this phone are: the screen (Because the official specs say SLCD), and the bezel. I thought the Rezounds screen was a bit too dim and not vibrant enough, but people who have handled the Dinc4G say the screen is on par with the One X's and very bright, which makes me think it's actually an SLCD2. Regardless, if it's anything like the One X's, viewing angles, brightness and color reproduction will be much better. The other issue is the bezel, because there's no point in having a smaller screen if there's a bigger bezel. I'll have to take a look at the phone when it comes out to make a final decision.

I had the Incredible and loved it (other than the battery). I almost upgraded to the Inc2. I then heard an Inc 4GLTE would be coming out. I did a little research. Granted I don't know much about the processors of the phones. The thing that bothered me the most was reading that the front camera was only going to be a VGA camera. That may not matter to many, but it did concern me. I did purchase the Rezound and I think I like it other than the battery life. Why doesn't HTC care that they are known for the worse battery life phones and do something positive about it.

between my sammy and my HTC the batteries are about the same. THe only company that has an exceptional battery is Moto, and that is only really on one phone (for the moment). Moto has all kinds of other issues that would prevent me from getting one...

The only reason moto has better battery life is they took a standard razr and put a factory extended battery in it. Then made you buy the phone out right if you already had a standard razr. With most phones like the rezound you can just buy an extended battery without buying a new phone.

I agree I had nothing but problems when I had my D2G, my girl and other people that had the Droid X also had multiple problems.

I would not really call it a problem, it is the nature of the beast. I agree with you though.

This is still my very personal opinion, but I believe that anyone who cites a weight difference of modern phones needs to be checked into a mental ward.

It's useless, and there's no real excuse for going with one phone over another because of a few decagrams.

And TBH while most of the rest of the comparisons are valid (S4, integrated LTE, bigger stock battery), the display on the Rezound is still the best I've seen out there. I was playing with a friends RAZR the other night, and was put off by the difference, and the poor guy thought his phone screen was HD because that's what the salesperson told him. Needless to say, I let him see the wonder of the Rezound.

They have, all the One phones, and this phone, are reported to have pretty decent battery life. If you turn off LTE on this phone, it should get the best battery life out of all the phones.

I agree, the problem I have is putting small batteries in a phone that demands more juice. The difference in battery from my 3g fassy to the ReZound is only 120mah. I think with a 4G phone the floor should be 2000, but hey I am not a parts person, I do not know what limitations there actually are. THe Maxx doesnt count...

Even with 4g on i never have any problems getting 16+ hours completely stock and doing lots and lots of browsing, text, and calling. I really have never understood the battery issues ppl have. I blaim it on ppl not knowing how to condition batteries and doing stupid things like bump charging.

I blame it on people not setting the phone up correctly, but hey i am one of them. I have my brightness set to 100% 99.999% of the time.

Well the constant rebooting and freezing were the main issues, if it wasn't for that I would have definitely kept till my contract ended.

I know I can sometimes get 12 hours with my Rezound with moderate use. But if I'm in a area where I have a shaky signal you can forget it... That will drain your battery quicker than anything.

More places need wifi lol.

I havent really seen those issues around before. Were they part of the original release or is it still on going?

Does the 4G Incredible support 5GHz Wi-Fi? I use my Rezound on my 802.11n, 5GHz network at home. No interference issues.

Original release, after GB got released on them it got a little better but still had reboot issues. There were plenty of roms for the X but the Droid 2 Global Dev support was kind of thin.

I have never owned a smartphone, but I know a lot about hardware and software in general. I never needed a smartphone until I started traveling alot with my band. This country is not like it used to be in the phone booth department. You have to go through hell and high water to get to a phone book (or directions, or Wifi) in a strange city. Plus, my friends are tired of me borrowing their phones all of the time. I am due for a conract renewal at Verizon, and you know what that means:D! So, I researched alot of phones and I was not impressed by anything as far as price-to-performance goes. At first I wanted a phone with a good camera, until I realized that there is no phone with a TRULY good camera. Once you start to edit any of those photos or videos, you immediatley begin to see every flaw. Once I ruled out the camera things got easier.

I had no idea HTC was coming out with this phone and I am more impressed by the functionality of the design than ANY phone I have ever tried out. The screen looks extremely sharp and it seemed to be alot snappier than most high end phones. It doesn't have the software integration and pure floating point performance of an iphone (Hate me if you will, but the numbers don't lie, ghz and gb aren't everything), but it runs tighter than any other android phone I have tried. I had no hiccups in the store. It fit perfectly in my hand, which is a big thing for me since I don't want to drop my expensive new phone. I think HTC actually chose components based on functionality and compatibility, not just based on "the numbers". That's how computers and other hardware should ALWAYS be built, but people nowdays want to see numbers that are appealing, whether it's sports, record sales, taxes, etc. We all know that the most functional solution might not be the most appealing though (ahem, taxes). Also, I like what HTC is doing by making the screen dimensions in all of their phones PERFECT for widescreen video. There are no annoying black lines; the whole screen is filled:cool:. HTCs browsing experience is great the way they let text fill the screen no matter how close you zoom. I also REALLY like HTC's lock screen. It's almost impossible to "butt dial" in combination with it's small power button. You have quick access to apps and you can choose lock screen widgets, as well. Best of all, it has ICS, which is the first Android OS that gives you fingers the same level of control as a mouse. I actually think it functions more similar to OSX (a file management beast) than IOS. For $99 right now, it's the best deal around if you are ready for a new contract.

I should get paid for that endorsement.

In the Verizon store now and play in with the incredible. Noticed that sence 4 dose not have the carousel but stops like all android phones do. I personally like this for the selection of wallpaper out there. Does anyone know if sence 3.6 that is coming to the rezound has carousel ot not?
