Ridiculous battery drain this morning

I took my phone off the charger this morning and within about 30 minutes the battery drained from 100% to 15%

Anyone know what could have caused this?

That isn't a battery drop, it's a free-fall, with a thud at the bottom of the nice cliff that chart makes it look like. Jeez.

If you go to Settings-Battery (or Power or whatever) it should tell you what is draining the battery, If it is an app, you can look into Greenify, so that it runs only when you tell it to. They say Greenify needs root, but apparent;y someone I recommended it to has it on an unrooted junky-*** Galaxy S2 that is starting to break and fail, and it worked, so yeah. At the very least, it won't do anything, so it can't hurt to look into it.

You probably had one (or many lol) apps / system processes running that refused to let the phone sleep...although draining that fast would lead me to believe its something else. Are you rooted? Did your governor max out for some reason? What settings if any did you change before this happened? How old is your battery?
