Ring doorbell notifications wont override phone on mute

We have a ring doorbell Pro and Samsung Galaxy S7. We want the Ring app notifications to come through with sound even when the phone is on mute or don't disturb. , same as clock alarm will do. Have already set the app and the phone to enable custom notifications but still is not working. Advice appreciated.

Check the notification settings for Ring. You may need to mark that app as a "priority" notification.
Check both the notification settings and the do-not-disturb settings.
