Anyone else having this issue?

My phones ringtone will automatically switch to "silent" on it's own. I've checked the obvious things, no it's not on do not disturb, the sound mode is on sound. I've run all updates, restarted. Cleared cach/memory, closed all background programs. I will set a ringtone (tried custom tones or factory tones and have same issue), exit settings, some time will pass, maybe get a notification or a call and go back in and see that it's back to silent. The sound mode always stays in sound mode.

I use the volume buttons on the side of the phone for media volume and not ringer volume so I'm not accidentally turning it down or anything.

I dont believe I have any apps that hijack the mode or anything but I dont have anything installed that I've not used on previous Samsung devices.

Help! lol

so you have the volume on and notifications go silent and someone calling is silent? that sounds like something misbehaving, I would do through application you might have download or apps to find your problem. you can also go in safe mode to see any 3rd party apps causing it.

Notifications still sound, the ringtone is what goes silent. I'm not really sure how I narrow down possible apps that would cause this.

Let's first start with safe mode that will determine if 3rd party app is at fault or not instead of going app by app for now

So it doesnt seem to do it in safe mode so what's the easiest way to narrow down what app may be causing this?

I've installed maybe 15 apps or so since I got it but nothing that I've not used before. I read on a different forum about a related issue on Samsung s9 related to the ring doorbell app which I do use and am going to see if that's what's causing it.

Ok it might be possible it could be it
Let me know..

my phone doesnt do that, but I keep getting vibrating notifications when I have the vibrating option off. it's annoying. I cant seem to figure what the issue is.

You would have to do what the OP did and run through your apps and applications you installed.
