Risk of burning image on display with AOD?

Without a LED notification light on the G6, my alternative is to use the AOD (Always On Display) option. It's not a terrible alternative to the LED notification light, but it would've been nice to still have it so I could tell if I had a message from across the room. Anyhow, with AOD, I noticed that it stays in a fixed location on the screen and doesn't move. I would assume that this is bad since it would burn an image onto the screen over time, right???

Other than OLED Display (which cant burn in) older LCD displays can burn in - for example the older nexus tablets.

But with newer LCD displays there aren't any chances that it will burn in. Atleast I never heard of a case where some pixels burned in, in the last few years.

I was wondering this as well. Seems like there has to be some negative effect of having the AOD sitting there in the same spot always lit up. I wish there were an option to have it as a Glance Screen or something like that, similar to motorola when you wave your hand over the screen.

I have noticed that the AOD goes off when the phone thinks it is in your pocket, possibly tied with Trusted on Body Smart Lock

It's shutting off the display when it's covered, not just in your pocket. Put it face down on a surface and it'll go to sleep and turn back on when you pick it up again. Good thinking LG.
