I have tried everything but putting phone on sprint only and still having the same problem.

well I just put it on sprint only so let's see what happens now.

it was actually pretty easy to fix. i know i am getting mine a month later but we permanently roam. go to settings-more settings-roaming-roaming guard. un-check all the boxes and the notices will stop.

Yes... You are correct. The boxes should be unchecked. I have never gotten a warning about roaming.

All my roaming guards are off, but I still get the message CONSTANTLY, no sound, just a triangle in the notification bar that says I was on Data roaming. It's a pain in the ARSE. I live in a rural area and I am constantly going in and out of Roam, so I cannot pick "Sprint Only" or my phone doesn't get any data.

Does anyone have a data connection when roaming?

I was recently in an area where I used to roam with my Blackberry, but would still be able to make calls and access internet/apps. For some reason with my S3, I cant get data at all until I return back to Sprint network. My fiance was standing right next to me with her iphone (which is on the same plan) and she had no issues with data connection.

I was told by Sprint tech support and in store that this phone "is so advanced that the new antennas will not be able to access data when roaming" that response makes no sense to me. I've tried searching for posts about this but havent found anyone with this issue, just the roaming notification issue mentioned here.

I dont want to take this thread off topic, but I could sure use some help/insight. Is this a Sprint issue? Samsung issue? or is it just me?

I just started having the same problem with my Samsung Galaxy Stellar a couple of days ago. The roaming notice pops up anytime I go into town seven miles away. My carrier is Verizon, and there is plenty of coverage around town. While I'm at home out in the country, the roaming notice doesn't appear (so far). I checked for the roam guard and the other settings mentioned previously, but my phone has absolutely no settings that even mention roaming. When the notice appears, I don't have any service interruptions at all, just the notice.
