Re: Got a tentative date for Verizon Nexus 6 OTA

Which OTA? And is Verizon or Google saying the 19th?

Re: Got a tentative date for Verizon Nexus 6 OTA

Oh, you can just flash the OTA script yourself and get it whenever you want.

Marshmallow and the tech actually looked up the schedule.

They give any reason for the delay? Testing?

Also, I think most are aware they can sideload / flash the OTA. That does not mean everyone has the means (see: I only own a Chromebook) or the technical no-how (it doesn't seem to difficult, but it isn't exactly, plug your phone in and watch the magic happen) to do it.

Like taking quality pics? Or just taking photos faster?

Re: Best launcher for Marshmallow

I binned Nova to use Google launcher for the full Now experience

Re: Best launcher for Marshmallow

I have Nova, Aviate and arrow launchers. Best is Nova.

I had tried a lot of other launchers as well.

GoogleNow icons are too big and not visually appealing.

Re: Best launcher for Marshmallow

Most people here are going to tell you Google Now or Nova, as the general consensus is that those are the two best launchers around. I agree with that consensus as well. Google Now is simple, but effective. Nova provides lots of customization without drastically changing the UI as some launchers do. I've used both, but I've mostly used Nova for the last year.

IDK that you're going to see dramatically different performance for a launcher just because you upgraded from Lollipop to Marshmallow. It's not so much a matter of finding the "Best launcher for Marshmallow" as it is just a matter of finding the launcher that meets your needs best, regardless of Android version.

Google Now Launcher for me. I like to keep things simple and stock.

I don't like how you can't customize icons.

Then use something that you like. I personally don't spend time staring at my icons. I use my phone as a tool to get things done.

No doubt but I'm an artist so esthetics matter....

Plus I like the date showing up on the calendar

I like Nova, but use Now for the stock experience. I do like Nova's endless options and the ability to truly make the phone your own.

Re: Best launcher for Marshmallow

If customizing icons is important to you then you should love Nova, as there are lots of custom icon packs available. Also, I'm pretty sure you can import your own custom designs, if you so choose. I've never really messed around with that, as it's not really important to me.
