Re: Is it me or camera is better

that is good to hear. How about the front facing cam in low light? took a pic like that recently and it looked like an impressionist painting....

when is marshmallow coming to verizon?

Marshmallow 6.0 came out a month ago and i am still on 5.1.1 build number LMY48T. I am on Verizon and my Nexus 6 is an unlocked version bought directly from Motorola. Does anyone have any answers as to why my Nexus 6 has yet to be updated? Thanks in advance..

Have you tried the sim pull and Factory Data Reset?

Re: when is marshmallow coming to verizon?

Today is day 34 since Google's 6.0 rollout began and the simple fact is this: If you don't want to flash or side load, or go the extreme route of doing a factory reset and pull the sim, if you want to know when a 6.0 OTA will arrive, it NEVER will.

Accept your fate and be happy with 5.1.1. Lollipops have less calories than marshmallows anyway;)

Funny but the FDR and sim pull was easy.

Re: when is marshmallow coming to verizon?

I have a Verizon Branded Nexus 6 on Verizon service. I cannot flash because all I have is a work computer and don't have access to use the programs to flash my computer says they are "untrusted" programs.

Over the last couple weeks I have tried the following several times with no luck:
pulling the sim and restarting with WIFI on and nothing.
pulling the sim doing a FDR and nothing.

Then tonight I saw someone say they received the OTA on verizon..... so I restarted my phone and it popped up. No pulling the sim, no FDR, no flashing.

It is large.... like 700mb large and will take aproximately 45 minutes to download and install. It is in progress now.

Glad it's there. I like it!!!

Drippler didn't write a very nice review

They really bashed the Nexus 6...saying its outdated and the camera is bad yadda yadda. They were comparing it to the 6p etc.
I agree about the camera and yeah I've considered selling it. But overall it's not bad.

I think it's a bad assessment to compare the two as though both are competing with each other. I didn't read the review, so can't say exactly what was said/compared. However, the Nexus 6 is still a good device if you are looking for a Nexus at a great price.

I dunno.. the camera is far from bad. It's just not as point and shoot as, say, the LG G4 (which I also have). With a tiny bit of effort, it takes really good shots. My wife (G4 is her phone) and I both take a TON of pictures... Sure, the G4's camera is better, but not by much and certainly enough to really make a big enough difference for it to really matter.

As far as being outdated. Yes, it's a year old... so it IS outdated. But in terms of performance, it still does a pretty damn good job. With 6.0 loaded, I am actually finding it hard to justify getting rid of it for the 6P. Its fast, smooth, responsive and its getting a fair amount more out of a charge now due to Doze and some noticeable kernel improvements. There are few phones on the market that run better.

You can pick one up for under $300... that's a crazy deal for a phone that can pretty much will bludgeon anything at that price in terms of performance and overall fit and finish.

I agree... And noticed that 6.0 practically turned it into a new device.
Here it is 7:25 pm and still at 63 percent.

Yeah, they said the design was awful. I realize some people may not be comfortable with the size, but I think the design itself is sleek and sexy.

Re: Drippler didn't write a very nice review

The article is actually from androidpit.com if anyone wants to read it without installing drippler. But don't bother as its a crappy article with the author ranting about some minor points that are either subjective or inaccurate. Plus these tech bloggers have access to EVERY new phone for free, so their opinions are different than normal working folk who buy a phone every few years or less.

I dare say it will beat any phone in terms of speed and fluidness. Especially if running Marshmallow and unencrypted. If that's outdated, I'll take it. You can't convince me that the much lower clocked octa-core cpu of the 6p is faster than the 2.7ghz quad core of the Nexus 6. It's still the fastest cpu on the market. It will be relevant for a LONG time.

And no, the camera is not bad. It takes perfectly acceptable pictures.

Re: Drippler didn't write a very nice review

It definitely is worth it for the $$ -- As LeoRex said :).

I just snagged a Nexus 6P -- First ever Nexus for me and I am loving it. I believe I will stay with Nexus for awhile if they keep things up like this -- I am really enjoying stock / quick updates / security patches, and how just nice it is without any bloat what-so-ever :D.

Totally Agree!

My Nexus 6 is the quickest Android phone I have had.

Agreed!

I too am loving the stock experience with my Nexus 6. I also love not having any OEM or Carrier bloat.
